Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Yeah the timeline is messed up. Kotor's Revan Empire could be said to be built up from Republic deserters, but the hidden one was just too big to dissapear overnight for Desolus to have only studied them in the history books.

I figure BW's initial idea was to have the Sith Emperor devour them, but than they dropped the concept. Now there is a big Sith Empire and it needs to dissapear... somehow. My initial thought was that it eventually just splintered but that would leave.... splinters. Nothing the Jedi can't clean up, but maybe in five centuries not fifty years.

Maybe BW abandoned the idea as the Sith side always seemed fuller a few years ago. No idea what it is now, but back then the European server had like a 2/3rds split. They already made a big jump by making the tech look more up to date because the Clone Wars was out.
SWTOR should be 60 years after KOTOR, and KOTOR should be 300 years after TOTJ, not the other way around. The root of the problem is in Bioware corporate mandating KOTOR have a more PT/OT aesthetic, but SWTOR feeling the need to be so separate gunks up the whole timeline of the Old Sith Wars. The conflicts in and around the game don't even count as the Old Sith Wars.

It actually makes sense that SWTOR is 300 years after KOTOR. Enough time has passed and people probably wrote off Revan's disappearance as a freak accident; the Republic had time to heal and grow, making them used to peace and susceptible to a surprise attack by the Sith.

As for KOTOR being a few decades after Tales of the Jedi, it was originally going to be a TOTJ RPG with one of the Sunriders as a character, then they couldn't use the name and came up with Bastila Shan. But the scars of the Exar Kun War had not healed, and that was the backdrop for KOTOR; the ghosts of the Exar Kun War haunting the Republic.

Why is the foreword for a Star Wars Encyclopaedia from Rosario Dawson of all people?
Because Filoni is in charge, Ahsoka is his waifu and Rosario Dawson is the closest he can get to real life Ahsoka.

I felt that SWTOR is almost a carbon copy of PT and OT - Republic troopers look almost identical to clone troopers, Imperial troopers look like Stormtroopers repainted black, officers on both sides look very similar respectively Imperial and Rebel officers, even Imperial ships look nearly identical to OT's Star Destroyers. Not to mention Sith Empire uses the same titles as Galactic Empire - we have, for example, Grand Admirals and Moffs and very similar power structure. Even Mandalorians moved from unique KOTOR armors to armors inspired by Boba and Jango.
If it wasn't for bumping into a Sith Lord every few steps I wouldn't be able to tell that it's supposed to be ancient history.

If Filoni can neither kill Ahsoka or write her out of the story, she's going to just keep raising "where the fuck is she" questions for every major entry going forward.
If there were a single word I'd use to describe Ahsoka it would be superfluous, her continued existence means that she could and probably should have been important for so many events but she just isn't because it would change the pre-existing works so she ends up amounting to nothing in the grand scheme of things.

That, and "creators" covered in this video
Who glaze Disney

The only one of them I had ever seen before was Star Wars Explained. His whole brand was trying to be positive, so I could see why it slide into shill. I remember when he was just like, "oh and here's my wife." Then as she was attractive she started get incorporated more into the channel. She clearly was never a hardcore fan and was playing the role. She'd be holding Baby Yoda's and getting mummy tingles that he's so cute. Then for whatever reason of only being there because people thought she was attractive, set out on the path to make herself less attractive.

If Ahsoka was a padawan who lost her actual master in the Clone Wars, and Anakin fills a pseudo role for her due to being broken in a similar way, it'd have worked for an arc. Then have her as a semi-reoccuring character since it'd continue the arc and prove Anakin could've had the chops to be a Master if the order was less inflexible. Then kill her. If she died during the Clone Wars it'd have been poignant.

Even Dave's Fanfic would've been a lot better off if he iced her during the ending stages of the show... or in Rebels. But he's less butch than Rowling, so he couldn't nut up and do it. Now she's just bland orange lady who smirks a bit I guess, whose only purpose is to get bots and gooners to limply play corpsec for a 150 billion dollar company.

The character role of someone more impulsive than him was a good way to show Anakin slowly maturing. and even the Jedi council giving a non-master a padawan to try to make him develop a sense of responsibility makes sense in a show-logic way.
But the execution was way off because she was the childgirl boss character, even though hollywood wineaunts and dickcaged allies hadn't fully run the archetype in the ground.

But the absolute inexcusable thing is still she had the perfect ending to he arc in dying to Vader. She completes her arc, closes all loop holes and what-ifs about her fate, and ends up an important Rebellion martyr; her death has huge meaning.

And Wolfloni couldn't let that stand and had to fucking introduce literal fucking time travel to get his waifu back.

Ahsoka has to be one of the biggest examples of forcing a square peg into a round hole, there was already so much Clone Wars content that she just wasn't in and couldn't fit into naturally.
However Ashoka in Dave's fanfics naturally fits a LOT of square pegs into her round hole....

I just cannot understand this kind of thinking. A woman's social credit is so heavily rooted in what she looks like. So, to do that is to destroy a part of her identity and self worth and as Road Dahl put it, their inner thoughts become outer and we see the ugly spiral.

It has to do with fear and contempt. Women tend to hate the attention of unvetted strangers. To most women, the idea of being admired and looked upon by a horde of unknown men can be disturbing and nothing in the world is more eager to burn something out of spite than women.

Agreed. I know the cop out is that "Its is all where Palpatine got his inspiration from!"

Damn Creamy Sheev must have been the biggest Dromund Kasaboo in the entire rule of two succession, playing Lightsabers of Iron all the time.

IIRC Sidious was interested in ancient sith lore, while Plagueis thought it was all dead boomer sith losers sperging in the void.

From the first 2.5 days, the Star Wars booth at SD Comic Con is huge, and much like last year, it had very few people in it, especially as compared to similar media properties. Very few Star Wars cosplayers as well, mostly classic trilogy. I maybe saw one white hair girl grey padawan from Ahsoka? Honestly saw more Harry Potter wizards than Star Wars outfits. The big cosplay day is tomorrow, will update if analysis changes.

Even in the Hasbro booth, the Star Wars stuff was shunted into a 4ft display case, and the only stuff I saw people looking at were the Phantom Menace figures. Hottest thing in that booth was the MTG Monty Python cards.

I'd say look forward to High Republic pegwarmers, but if it's like Ahsoka, they barely made enough to warm any pegs.
