This is a good strategy but Trump needs to make sure to not outright kill Kamala before the convention, just poison her. She still needs to win the nomination, Mark Kelly isn't good but won't be as unelectable as Harris.

The funny thing is, you're right - they've not read it. It actually says at the bottom of that image that the text is all taken from Neil Postman's "Amusing Ourselves to Death". I have a copy of that. It's actually quite good though coming from the pre-Internet era it is obviously rather dated. It's a book about modern American politics in the age of mass media and it opens with an interesting factoid which is that in year _____ (I don't have it to hand and it's years since I read it), the average American man would not recognize the president if he passed him on the street but more than half of them could identify which president delivered which speech from their words. But that at the time the book was written this was almost exactly reversed. Everybody would know Bill Clinton instantly but hardly anybody could read a speech and tell you if it was one of his, one of Regans... no clue.

The tagline for the book was "This is the way the wold ends, not with a bang, not even with a whimper, but with the sound of canned applause".

Interesting read though yes - it undersells some of the more horrific aspects of Brave New World, using it more as a leaping off point for its thesis. Funny to see that cartoon using Postman's words for it. Kind of proves his point.

Ways abortion can be an issue for monogamous and celibate people:
- a monogamous, married couple finds out at 24 weeks that their baby has potter's syndrome, they would prefer to terminate instead of going through 16 more weeks of pregnancy to birth a baby that will die painfully after 20 minutes. This
- a monogamous, married couple finds out that the woman is pregnant, but can't financially support another child
- a monogamous, married woman gets pregnant but is 41 years old, and feels like a geriatric pregnancy would be too risky
- monogamy and marriage are no guarantee against birth control failure
- married, monogamous women, and celibate women, can be raped and impregnated
Marriage and monogamy aren't magical shields that make it so nothing bad or unplanned ever happens to you. Married couples and people who are celibate don't benefit from the government trying to restrict abortion.

I took a look at YouTube News and found that a lot of news stations are spinning anything Trump says about Harris as an "attack", particularly among smaller, local news stations. Obviously the new talking point bulletin has made the rounds. They're going to try that one out in the smaller stations before rolling it out on MSNPC and CNN.

It's a weird mind-set to even come up with it. Yes, it's an obnoxious and tasteless thing to say in and of itself. Particularly when a guest in the country that suffered it. But he actually calculated it based on relative population size. It's as if he thinks the number of people who died in 9/11 is less of a tragedy than if the same number die in Israel. What am I talking about with my "as if he..." Of course he thinks it's less of a tragedy.

This is absolutely wrong. Both the Catholic and Orthodox churches recognize the 'natural' marriage, which is a marriage between pagans or some other non-Christian religion. While the marriage ceremony in the church is a sacrament, any marriage (including common law marriage) is viewed as a marriage, regardless of the ceremony or beliefs of the people getting married. The only marriages that are not considered this way are gay marriages. Even polygamy is recognized (just not allowed after conversion). A polygamous heathen may, in fact, keep all his wives after baptism.
