If you think it's insane how this looks like every other cartoon reboot/continuation with the same lineart, same stilted animation, and the same pseudo meta humor that falls flat, you're not insane because this show was animated by Snipple, who also did the reboots for Animaniacs and Tiny Toons. It is incredible how they took the old Tiny Toons bit where they would make a joke and then explain why it's funny but in an even more belabored and unfunny fashion.
Just saying it: He was brilliant as Venom in the PSX, PC, and N64 game, and as Red Alert in Transformers (the one by Melbourne House, set between Armada and Energon).God I feel bad for Darren Norris for some reason. Guy has range and I wanna hear him in other projects besides recycled slop.TFP Knockout especially
Dude is really talented, could've been in other things, though I think he used anime dubbing as a stepladder to get into the industry. Also his wife would end up cheating on him with Steve Blum and I think he almost got cleaned out in the divorce. Luckily, the Fairly Oddparents checks were coming in and I think he's doing well for himself despite being pigeonholed as Cosmo.God I feel bad for Darren Norris for some reason. While John K is a sick perverted freak, he was fucking right about 'cartoon writers' and that they should be kept away from animation at all costs.
'Animaniacs and Tiny Toons Ruined a Whole Generation of Animators.' - Negative EXP
And it’s dead.
Considering he voiced green goblin in spectacular spiderman amd in the comics goblin ended up sleeping with gwen Stacey who cheated on Peter. (In the now retconned sins past) there's something poetic about Darrin getting the short end of the stick from Steve like that. Glad he more or less recovered even if it meant having to voice cosmo forever to earn a living.cheating on him with Steve Blum
Here's one from deep within the vault! 1997 Pre-SpongeBob demo recording, when the show was still referred to as "Sponge Boy." I recorded these songs and presented them to Steve Hillenburg as he was developing the musical identity for his show. Some of these unused songs appeared in my independent film, "Colordog" which features a funny pineapple character
More and more pre production material from these old shows is getting dug up, some of it interesting others...well the less said about those.Got this video showcasing Demo Spongebob songs from 1997 from Steve Belfer
If it was anyone else making this I'd say it was just more western animators salty and jealous that anime is stealing their fans. But spider verse does feel like it was made in good stride.funny you mention this considering Gerard Way is the co creator of Peni Parker for Edge of the Spider-verse.
And yes that Shinji Ikari, Rei Ayanami, Asuka, and Kaworu in the background.

So his role as Knock Out in the Prime series was not Darren's first time with the franchise.Just saying it: He was brilliant as Venom in the PSX, PC, and N64 game, and as Red Alert in Transformers (the one by Melbourne House, set between Armada and Energon).
Never knew he was in Prime, but, of course, I never watched it, so that's why.So his role as Knock Out in the Prime series was not Darren's first time with the franchise.
Steve Blum was also in that series voicing Starscream. Now if Darren's wife was cheating on him during the time that show was airing, that must have been awkward.Never knew he was in Prime, but, of course, I never watched it, so that's why.
@Kari Kamiya Fucking Hell, that fact about Steve Blum. I feel sort of dirty and ashamed, 'cos I wanted to get into voice acting (still do on and off), and he was a hero of mine. I even wrote an essay about him when I was studying media in college.
I don't doubt that the tension could have been cut with Adamantium blades.Steve Blum was also in that series voicing Starscream. Now if Darren's wife was cheating on him during the time that show was airing, that must have been awkward.
Don't look at his Twitter if you value your sanity and any respect you still have for him.@Kari Kamiya Fucking Hell, that fact about Steve Blum. I feel sort of dirty and ashamed, 'cos I wanted to get into voice acting (still do on and off), and he was a hero of mine
I avoid Twitter-X like the plague, anyway. But the only time I ever come across it is when I'm at work, data gathering. 99.9% of the time, it can fuck off out of my face.Don't look at his Twitter if you value your sanity and any respect you still have for him.
This is a good rule for any big-name person you have respect for. Twitter is like a deep-dive into the darkest, most violent thoughts mankind can produce.Don't look at his Twitter if you value your sanity and any respect you still have for him.
