Cancer research has gone a whole lot of nowhere, with a lot of bullshit treatments approved despite not improving mortality significantly and having extreme negative impacts on quality of life. They're still focused on genetics and random chance despite cancer increasing dramatically in young people and increasing overall which suggests it probably isn't a genetic problem at its root.

This is why I vote Trump. None of the candidates match all my desires, but Trump does a decent amount compared to the competition.

No pharma company is going to cure cancer, it's way more profitable to keep it around. If somebody does manage to cure it, it'll be a small independent group or some rando, if they can manage to keep from committing suicide/dying of sudden heavy metal poisoning/a robbery gone wrong in which nothing was stolen/run over by a random car that police can't get the tire tracks of or identify in any way/etc. as soon as they file their patent like the people who have claimed to have invented significantly more efficient engines and fuel/energy sources.

The best thing to do with one of those "they'll kill me for this" techs is to go open source. Release it hugely publicly to the world. Not only will they hesitate to kill someone who just made it really obvious why they might be a target, but even if they do it anyway, the info is out and can't be put back in the bottle.

It was a mixed bag. There were very pro-Trump users and very anti-Trump users. The latter have more containment threads now and have mostly lost interest in engaging with A&H, while the former spend most of their time in A&H.

The first party to run a handsome and young-ish male candidate will get the lion's share of the female vote. It's literally that easy. If Henry Cavill ran for president he'd get 80& of the female vote.

Biden's legacy will be how he destroyed and undermined public trust in the courts at every opportunity by using them to go after his political opponents and smeared them as an evil threat to democracy whenever they disagreed with him. When they gave him the ultimate 'Fuck you' to his executive power by reversing Chevron, that was one to many "threats to our democracy" for this villain, who is now using what little time he has left to fully subvert the courts and make them a subsidiary of the executive branch. All this was because he has a pure, unabashed hatred of Trump and wants to destroy everyone and anything ever associated with him. Uninstalling the three supreme court Justices he appointed that keep getting in his way; detaining J6'ers indefinitely without fair trail. I’m in two minds on this. Having seen how overreaction was turned from ‘billions of human doses given safely’ to ‘horse paste’ and having worked in the industry there is no depth to which I think pharma would sink.
Having said that; research doesn’t pop up out of nowhere. Most pharma expansion now is them buying up small startups, and their work is public ish so it would be hard to have absolutely zero knowledge of at least the beginnings of such work unless it was done behind closed doors.

Cancer isn’t really a disease in itself, it’s the end stage of a process of deregulation of how cells grow and divide and stay where they are meant to. There may be no single cure for cancer at all, or there may be, it will depend on whether there is one point in a very complex network where things can be targeted.

The single cure for cancer would IMO most likely be a combo therapy of using your own immune system and some drugs to prod things in the right direction. So it would more likely be a platform to use a specific approach than a single drug for all cancers at this point.
