UK British News Megathread - aka CWCissey's news thread

https://news.sky.com/story/row-over-new-greggs-vegan-sausage-rolls-heats-up-11597679

A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

If he was arrested by Special Branch wouldn’t that still be the Met?

Special Branch is the Flying Squad: they are independent of location. Their American counterpart would be the FBI.

The Flying Squad is counter-terrorism, conflicting with whatever MI5 are calling themselves this month, as well as a bunch of other stuff.

All of these incidents and crimes involving children in Britain would make one think that that country was in the Middle East instead of being Britain. Either way, it’s rather odd to think that Britain is at least surprisingly (though, slightly) better than Canada.

Tommy Robinson has been arrested under the Terrorism Act
Arresting him under the Terrorism Act is completely unnecessary. For those who don't know, getting arrested under the Terrorism Act removes a lot of basic rights from you and allows the police to really throw you around.

Special Branch and the Flying Squad are two different task forces, the Flying Squad is for investigating and preventing armed robberies.

Oh... I thought the Flying Squad rebranded as Special Branch? What happened to the Vice Squad, come to think about it?

What the fuck is going on?

Can brits explain to me what this guy does?

Here's the short highlights ...
He used to be a football hooligan then about a decade or so ago he formed a group called the EDL after a bunch of Muslim rats were allowed to abuse returning soldiers in luton.
EDL was campaigning against the extreme Muslim ideologies and became fairly popular, had a good few marches in London and various other city's around the uk. Being formd by a football holigan you can imagine how the marches went when you had groups of lefties and Muslims trying to campaign against the marches and the police failing to keep them apart.
For daring to tell the truth about Muslims the government went all out on him, jailed him for a bullshit mortgage technicality and transferred him around allowing the Muslims to try and take him out.
After that failed a couple years later he once again dared to to tell the truth by reporting on one of many Muslim grooming gang trials and this time when they jailed him the held him in solitary the whole time in belmarsh which is the uks main terrorist holding prison.
And this time he reported on a vile woman beating scum immigrant, in a completely bull shit and biased trial he was ordered to pay 500k to the immigrant so he made this film Silenced and played it during a march this weekend so was held on a terrorism charge!

He's far from an angel but the way the government have gone after him is ridiculous, their scared of the English people hearing the truth about the scum that in invading the uk!

The only source being Tommy himself of course and the term unreliable narrator springs to mind.

Kent Police said that on Sunday night that a man, 41, had been detained at the Channel tunnel in Folkestone under schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act, The Guardian reported.

This legislation allows an examining officer to stop and question people entering and leaving the UK through ports, airports, international rail stations and the border area.

When necessary, they may also detain and search individuals.

The newspaper said Robinson was arrested 'for frustration of schedule 7 examination' and was later released on bail as enquiries continue.

Oh, for the yanks thirst posting about the imaginary Blut und Boden of the EDL, it’s very much about being culturally British.

There are black and brown faces involved. Not massive but they do exisy. Shout out to the Sikhs.

Football hooliganism is weird, as is the British black middle class.

It’s part of the reason Antifa don’t show up to their marches much.

They would show up to “fight the nazi” and get there heads kicked in by skinheads along side hoolies, some of who are black, and regular working class guys.

Some of these skinheads would start getting friendly with the black lads because they were fighting next to each other and it did more to unite races than anything a lefty could do.

This is why Anifta just attack feminists who say men aren’t women now in the uk.

Don’t mind me if your not interested but have been watching this channel for a year now and find that gives out nuggets of really important information.

Black Belt Barrister.
He makes short videos about British law. Most are American.
If you want to know about tv license fines
Third party parking fines
A perspective upon major. High profile cases.
Legality of Just Stop Oil.
What weapons are you allowed to carry
“Who is in the wrong” in dashcam clips and why.
That’s just a few off the top of my head.

The videos are never longer than ten minutes and he clears up a lot of things that can be considered ‘grey areas’ in the public”s minds.

I mean have you seen London? they alow Sharia law rape apes fuck nine year olds

Child protection isn't enforced at all unless they want to become a tranny

Child rape & grooming gangs go free while pointing it out is punished by year's in prison

Sharia Law is already the law of the land they just keep quiet about it

Doctor Johnson famously said "when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life." Now, when one tires of life, he can go to London to get stabbed.
I’ve wandered around Rome and never felt unsafe. I’ve been in the weird Casa Pound areas and wandered back to the hotel blind drunk from Termini were the boat monkeys dwell and have never felt unsafe.

London I won’t even get my phone out of my pocket on a high street.

Fuck London.

It's going to be impossible to discuss this in this thread thanks to the feature, but the BBC are reporting "Mr Edwards is accused of having six category A images, 12 category B pictures and 19 category C photographs on WhatsApp."

Category A indecent images are the most severe. They include images showing a child or children being subjected to gross assault, sadism, or bestiality, and being sexually penetrated. Any image that depicts a child being subjected to pain also falls into Category A.

Category B indecent images are moderately severe. They include images showing a child or children being subjected to non-penetrative sexual activity. This category covers two ‘levels’ on the Sentencing Guidelines Council (SGC) Guidelines, levels 2 & 3. These levels make a distinction between whether the child or children were engaging in sexual activities with an adult.
  • Level 2 – Non-penetrative sexual activity either between children, or solo masturbation by a child.
  • Level 3 – Non-penetrative sexual activity between adults and children.
Category C offences are the least severe. Images of children in erotic poses fall into this category.

I feel (unhappily) vindicated for arguing with people sticking up for Huw on the basis he was a dirty pervert for messaging boys that young in the first place, despite all the "oh it was just buying stuff on onlyfans and onlyfans hadn't verified the kid's age" apologia.

Fair enought. So nothing to do with his gay little documentary then, just refusing a search on entry to the country? You know the sort of thing people who support him support happening.

Yeah, thought his narrative would be dodgy at best.

"17-year old boy"

I'm sure he's a true and honest boy and didn't lie about being a minor when arriving from across the channel.
“Originally from Cardiff” say the police, in two separate press conferences.

But according to rumours on Twitter, Ali is not originally from Cardiff. He’s originally from Syria, he came to the UK illegally by boat last year, and was on a terrorist watch list.

Let’s wait and see what the truth is.

Extremely grim event the more you read about it.
