I think kids shows can get a pass because of the nature of the show. Not to say kids shows can't have "smart" plots, but there's a lot more handwaving you can get away with. And one such handwave is the good guys can just beat the bad guys and that's more or less that. While I do think a lot of those stories like to explore redemption elements, it's not always a requirement. Sometimes they can just go the way of Scar or Jafar and the heroes are allowed to live happily ever after.

But with adult storylines, the audience has higher expectations and wants to see the consequences of actions, whether good or bad. Again, it's not a requirement, but given the setting and plot it's certainly set up where it would be pretty easy to happen versus a show that's more grounded in reality where dead means dead. If it was the only issue, I'd just write it off as a missed opportunity more than anything else, but when you have a list of missed opportunities as long as Viv's, it comes off as yet another example of incompetency.
Right, there is the caveat. While at the same time, you must also know to potentially do an "all ages" approach. One where you bring a satisfactory ending where the "whole family" such as mom and pop watching alongside little Suzie to enjoy. I think that's the beauty in children's cartoons, while it has its lows too.

For adult entertainment, you must have deeper themes explored: perhaps a stalemate where "neither side" wins, the forces get a pyhrric victory, and even the loss of so many friends while others can get a chance to live, while exploring the background of characters. You need to give them an idea of what they want and what they have to do. As far as I saw, and this may be an error of mine - all I saw from Chad-dam was "Yeah I rock, I'm a badass", and some witty lines that brought fresh balance to the series. But what else? Reform sinners is cool, okay. Lucifer obssessed with ducks??? That's... retarded. Can you imagine a story where you'd get a powerful ruler and his thing was "I collect hats, and I like to dance!" (t. Pope Innocent III). Or said menacing Alastor, he seems like a roaming creepypasta, and a direct punch to his teeth would put him to his place. Is that what people are afraid of? An ugly face? Not something like hunger, losing those who you care of? Uncertanity of the future? I don't know, I am giving Vivianne another vote of confidence, it's that this "Clash of Titans" sort of thing where you get powerful being fighting, the stakes either get too high that you can't begin to imagine what's at stake.

Take Saxon Chronicles AKA The Last Kingdom, Alfred the Great was a pious character that was hard to deal with if you were exactly as you wanted to be, but also a tactician and someone to be reckoned with. Uhtred Ragnarsson has difficulties as he was raised a pagan and still he respects him, and both use each other to achieve their goals (repel the Nordic invasion; get back the ancestral homeland respectively). You get to see also background characters and how this affects them, and there are many other books who do it well, varying points of view. I want to read Maurice Duron's The Accursed Kings, seems like a good series set in before the Hundred Years war. Also has multiple characters and perspectives to explore.

Ah yes, because when a gay man pretends to be straight, he immediately resort to incestuous flirting instead of simply yelling about loving titties or something.

This is probably fake but if it isnt, it's obvious last minute cope to explain the previous last minute cope (making Andre gay to avoid incest undertones) and doesnt even make sense.

Why would Andre cover the fact that he is gay? Why does homophobia suddendly exist? Wasnt he on the pride parade wearing flag colors? Andre only says "you're lucky you're attractive" when he's alone with Stella so it's not like he was flexing to strangers.

It's also awful for Stella because either she has no idea he's gay or is forced to play along, both being fucked up situations for her.

Listen, I probably could have just put Andrealphus' remarks as being a fruity gay guy if I didn't know that at one point in time, Viv had the idea of putting Stella and Adrealphus in an incestuous relationship before changing her mind. Because with that now in mind, it does come across as flirtatious.

It kind reminds me of another incident that happened, with the Angel Dust episode of HH. It's not really sexualizing sexual assault and abuse...until you realize that the storyboarder for the dance sequence and scenes between Val and Angel was done by someone who fetishize said abuse between Val and Angel, and used scenes from their own erotic comics...and some of the dialogue as well ended up in the show from said comics...

Of course it's Richard Horvitz voicing Baxter. I'm not surprised. He sounds way too much like Moxxie but with a slightly exaggerated voice. Couldn't get an original VA for him so let's just rehash another character into sounding like a diet Moxxie again.
This shocks me because they should have the money to hire someone new to do a voice. Reusing Horvitz so much just makes it look like if he ever takes a break like Erica Lindbeck that this show is fuck.

Well, if the Baxter pooner theory is true and Horvitz is just a placeholder voice (cause let's be real that dude's singing is trash), I'm betting on Hennessy Winkler being Baxter's actual voice in the show. It's a pretty common headcanon for the crowd that insists that tranny actors should voice tranny characters.

Don't know how new this is, but apparently someone is selling Loona statues that are signed by Elica lindbeck herself for 666$.

I don't remember Loona being so stacked in the show. 🤔
I know a guy who bought one of these, they’re surprisingly quality. it wasn’t signed and he paid about 275$ for it, which was pretty steep, but the statue is cool at least

Reactions: The Nothingness
Assuming it's true, I was going to give Viv the benefits of the doubt. Maybe being gay is frowned upon among aristocrats because they're expected to reproduce and continue the lineage. And if hell has no moral compass, they wouldn't care about incest and other degenerate shits beyond thinking it's gross.
But then I rerembered that the lust demon care about consent and that Viv will never explore hell being morally bankrupt in any way that might disturb her audience of Twitter kids.

Yeah this was just pure filler bait. The penguin saying "*slurs*" out of nowhere was kind of humorous but that's all I can say. Things just happened. Nothing else. We didn't even get to see the client or anything. Just trying to find ways to pretend y'all are still following the original premise of the show, I see.

The thing that confuses me so much about the universe is that there is a confusing lore about Hell itself. In one side you have this thing about aristocracies, families and order; while at the same time people partying, raping and people going out of control and indulging in all the things as if there's no tomorrow. It's almost as if it is an anarcho-royalty? Unless the forms of government are in between the circles. Wrath would be a totalitarian government; Pride complete anarchy - but has she established it or just fanfiction work with leaders like Mammon etc?

And the thing about Heaven, it seems to draw inspiration from the Kabbalah more than Christianity (or it was at least the fanfiction I saw). I don't want to come across as nitpicky, but the question about having no ruler (God) and just the Angels and their levels is very much developed upon said literature.

EDIT: I feel as if I'm becoming an a-log of this show, and I want to apologize. I hope I'm not warranting a threadban. I feel more like discussing things, yet if things are going too quickly, I can post less.

Finally an episode that follows the premise of the show. I'm even fine with bite sized ones like these. Maybe extend it to 8 or 7 minutes to introduce the client or the mission and provide a resolution, and you're gold.

Edit:
Something I'd like to stress. There really doesn't need to be plot progression in a show like this. It could just be an average "adventure of the week" show where most of the murder missions contribute nothing to the plot. Maybe toss in a major change in the season finale, but really you don't need anything else to make a show like this work. There are countless shows which were just "adventures of the week" that managed to be profitable for multiple seasons. Some with episode budgets in the hundreds of thousands to millions.

It just sucks it's something we get to see every few years. I want to accept it but seeing how much the show 180'd its original premise for a half-baked Wattpad fanfic instead just doesn't feel enough. I know the rest of the seasons are just gonna continue being yaoi bait intensified, so hopefully the shorts could be the only time we'll get to see them do their original goals. It's not enough but... it's what we have to settle for, unfortunately. (:_(

The episode was fine, but my god, I did not need to see a full minute of making/eating out a fucking crystal. Also, I know that sex jokes override continuity in this show, but why did they have to do all "that" to open a portal? No other demon has had to, until now. I really hope this isn't going to be running gag from now on.

Speaking of, I guess this could also be used as an excuse for why they don't have human disguises for Ghostfuckers; because Blitzø doesn't know how to fully use the Asmodeus crystal yet. Though I don't why they just don't give the rest IMP human disguises. With how much Viv loves to pump out sexy merch, you think this would be a gold mine for her.

Sexual jokes are kinda overdone, ngl.
Good to see them actually do assassination stuff, though the most of the humour is still quite terrible; suble stuff like blitzo being unable to count is ok, but they didn't needed to make the penguins say *SLURS*; it almost reads as a placeholder for a better joke they couldn't find in time.

I like how this short kinda disproves the dumb complaint to justify turning the show into fujobait where the fujos say "it would get repetitive" when there are plenty of varying scenarios that could happen with hitmen in Hell, but instead it's just the very repetitive storyline of "will these two gay guys get together or won't they?"
