Normally you'd need a slew of ads and targeted messaging to try that kind of a strategy, but Trump has returned to his great instincts for getting the media to talk about his message for free. All he did was agree to a hostile venue for a few hours, and the #KamalaIsIndian message reverberated across the places identity-obsessed lefties pay attention. Not just free advertising, free targeting as well.

Any right winger who thinks Trump was talking to them on that stage are clueless about political campaigning. "Why would Trump mention race" is the whine of people who can't even play checkers while he's playing chess; they're still at the tic-tac-toe table.
