I feel like, generally speaking, when women do this, they're told everything was the fault of the man; when men do this, they're told they must have been a bad partner. I think in a lot of things, the truth is usually somewhere in the middle.
Obviously there are cases of abuse or blatant mistreatment, but I think in particular a lot of the claims people make about their exes being "narcissistic" are hyperbole meant to make themselves look better and like they were blameless victims

i have not met a single man who has ever called his ex a narcissist, at most they say she was crazy
it has always been women
the subject is what first pops up when you google narcissism in dating is presented by a woman

Because to them woman = good inherently. As someone who lives with a raging pooner it is very hard to deal with.

Oh, hai. My ex was/is. The relationship fit the pattern perfectly:
- Love bombing
- Devaluation
- Discard
- Hoovering
Rinse and repeat.

Only discovered it was 'a thing' a couple of years after it all fell apart, and it was a major lightbulb moment. That's not to say I'm not a useless sack of shit too, but it wasn't entirely my fault, either.

When wahmens make the claim, it might occasionally be a true assessment, given that they're so commonly attracted to dark Triad/Tetrad traits, but it's usually projection (what isn't with them), imo. (Speaking as something of a covert narcissist myself).

This caused a little bit of uproar because of the uncertainty about the latter ones gender, and many jump to the conclusion she must be biologically male, and a man just beat up a woman.
I saw Internet Wizard bringing up the same point, too, in regards of demographics. Why do people start blaming Mens Rights Activists (the people that hold no political power and no one takes seriously) for those things all of a sudden?
