Entire network TV show was made about him being dumb. He was the villain of those years to many but it wasn't nearly as thick as it was starting in 2016. Most of the major newspapers were soft on him like they were with Obama.

Wasn't even close to Trump levels though. What happened to the media class in 2016 was full retard meltdown. Something different. The system reared it's ugly head in an obvious big way after that.

You’d be surprised how much the astronaut thing would resonate with low energy/info voters. Being an astronaut is cool. It’s not like being an airline pilot- it requires significantly more knowledge, skill, and decision-making abilities in high-pressure environments. While I’m not wowed by it, multitudes would be. It is a threat.

Outside of that, he’d be running on a hole in his wife’s head, and that would get irritating after about five seconds.

Then there were the ton of new entitlements he pushed in the name of Compassionate Conservatism. Oh yeah, he cheered on the housing bubble that led to the 2008 financial collapse and immediately manipulating the markets and initiating all the bank bailouts that fucked over everyone except his banker friends who should've gone to prison instead.

I think the progressive wing already did not want Shapiro, and the sexual harassment allegations and the Greenberg case will give them enough leverage they'll have to go with someone else. Walz is gaining traction I think.
