"Mad at the Internet" - a/k/a My Psychotherapy Sessions

Also, corporate tax was quite low ($229 billion) despite individual income tax being in the trillions ($2.2 trillion). Anything I'm missing?
corporate tax is double taxation and pretty gay tbh; you should either do away with it and tax the income when it is distributed to shareholders, or you should do away with the lame and gay income tax and tax the companies instead.

edit: thanks again for the fast podcast turnaround, that's straight fire

the only negative side effect is that you'll miss drinking coffee
[for reference, a cup of espresso usually has around 200mg caffeine]
[risk of overdose/death is pegged online at around 3000mg a day so you probably shouldnt take more than 3 a day, and not more than 1 a day if you dont wanna build up a resistance]
Just looking at these things make me feel sick, whenever I go beyond like ~350-400mg regardless of the beverage, energy drink, tea, coffee, caffeine tablets, I get this disgusting bitter taste in my mouth alongside the jitters that has put me off consuming caffeine. I found beverages containing L-Theanine with either small amounts of caffeine or none at all to be fantastic if you can find a cheap and reliable supply.

2. coffee tastes bad, needs milk, but milk has calories
3. soda and monster taste good, no calories, rots your teeth and is probably poison

re: flavor, I experimented with a few different keurig cups and fell into tolerating Folger's Black Silk coffee. It's dark roast but smooth, in a way that good vodka goes down smooth despite being poison the liver must break down. It's available as either grounds for a traditional filter machine or pods for offices/easy home use for a quick single cup.

I consume it as a mild stimulant and social accessory on the rare days I have to go in an office, if I never drank it again I don't think I'd miss it. The secondary coffees I put up with at a Starbucks for social purposes only are cold frappuchinos, usually mocha or vanilla. Very milky but I never go unless someone else wants it so I write off the calories as negligible.

I bought one of these for $150 and have been making Americanos, espressos, cappuccinos, and lattes like crazy. I’ve never liked making them at home but this takes all the guesswork out of it. I absolutely hated frothing the milk, this thing does literally everything for you aside from grinding the beans.

These are the beans I use, about $30 for 2.2lbs.

Kicking Horse Coffee, Cliff Hanger Espresso

Personal Recipe: Use a single cappuccino worth of milk, stop it after the milk finishes, then press espresso twice for a double espresso light milk cappuccino.

This is the grinder I use, I installed the Baratza M2 Cone Burr upgrade to make it like the more expensive model.

Hello fellow caffeine fiend, here is my 2¢ based on my experience. Ranked worst to best (and probably cheapest to most expensive.)
Cafetière / French press - My least favorite coffee after instant, you have to wash it after every use and if you want more than one cup per day that’ll have to be by hand. Ours was glass and we broke at least one, waiting for it to brew allows it to cool quite a bit which is a problem if you like a milky coffee to be hot. Stainless steel might be better in that regard, also grind the beans yourself because it tastes better.

Drip - I have a cheap Melitta machine and I detest it, the taste and texture of the coffee makes it not worth the effort. The model I have sucks and you have to use their own brand of filters. Here are some features to look for, not found on mine: A tank that is not affixed, that way you can fill over the sink and not flood your kitchen, also one that is clearly marked so you don’t have to use a separate measuring jug. Consider getting one with an inbuilt grinder or a grinder with a separate chamber. I have an electric blade grinder and you have to pick up the whole thing to dispense coffee with a little brush, it’s cumbersome and awkward. One with a clear jug so you can actually tell that it’s done at first glance.

Nespresso - Original and Vertuo machines. Vertuo pods come in larger sizes but you can only buy those direct or from companies like Starbucks, you can get original size from the grocery store. It’s the cleanest and easiest method, the coffee tastes really good and has rich crema. You can pick whichever flavor or intensity you feel like at any given moment and they bring out seasonal options like gingerbread, vanilla almond and iced coffees. The only downside is the price, as even with sporadic promotions the cost of the pods does add up. (A competitor of Nespresso is Dolce Gusto but I haven’t tried it.)

Espresso machine - If you drink a lot of coffee and enjoy the taste(?) this would be my recommendation. Of course the commercial ones are very expensive, I bought a small Breville one second hand and it worked pretty well, it had a steam wand and everything. I did attend a one-day training course but besides things like latte art, the process is fairly straightforward. It’s also fun to use and tastes really good, you have the option of making double-shot and a variety of different drinks.

I love coffee, but I wanted to get more bang out of the part of the day I spend not drinking water, so I've switched from home-ground espresso/French press [the rougher the grind, the stronger the brew, and the nada the unfiltered grounds] to green+kombucha/ginger tea in the day after 8 oz. of KOS when I get up. If I don't feel like making tea, I can have an Alive; 20 calories for the whole bottle and "Cola" is my new favorite. I buy the cold drinks at the grocery store, the tea from wherever the best sale is, often Vitacost. I sweeten with stevia, and the ones sold without fillers are available online. The KOS is 35 calories inclusive of its native sweetening, and the teas are zero calories whether you sweeten or not.
p.s./e.t.a.: I've been using a titanium straw for years now, to make the possibility of staining my teeth pretty much zero, and I also have some silicone straws that work well in beverage bottles as they can bend/collapse for recapping and are more voluminous for smoothie situations.

Green Tea. Make it strong, no sugar, ice cold for maximum effect.

French press fucking sucks fuck off the grains get into the coffee
Cowboy coffee is pretty good, just don't even bother filtering, boil the water, throw the ground beans in, boil that shit a bit, then drop a bit of cold water on top and there won't be MANY grounds in what you scoop off the top and drink eagerly while waving around your cowboy hat at the audience.

Nice show.
Coffee.

Step 1:
Buy a proper espresso machine. Not pods, not filter, just the little cup that you put ground coffee into.

Like this one, it costs $75. You can pay thousands for something that’s heavier and comes from Italy, but I have one just like this which I’ve used daily for 5 years now.

Step 2:
Buy a carton of “barista” oat milk and keep it in the fridge.

Step 3: using literally any vacuum packed coffee from Lidl, follow the instructions and make a delicious coffee of your choice. It will taste great no matter what. Try different coffees until you find ones you like best.

Is it tasteless? Can I mix it with water?
You can just get caffeine tablets at any pharmacy, they cost next to nothing and are dosed at 100mg each usually.

Do not get bulk caff powder, you will accidentally overdose.

Preworkout (or those fucking gamer drinks) is pretty overpriced if you just want it for caffeine and not any of the other ingredients, also they taste awful most of the time.

Sam Hyde liking Pearl Davis isn't surprising. It's a well known fact that misogynistic men(tm) have the worst taste in women.
Why? Well because their grievances with women are never as principled as they like to say they are. And trash like Pearl soothe these personal grievances, making it easy to speculate that they're petty things like women not agreeing with them or something.
And now, as per Null, we learn that apparently the troon question is divisive on the far right because troons own women pretty hard.

If you believe these guys have sensible takes on women you have to carve out a million special dispensations for why they have the opinions they do, but if you think they’re motivated by resentment all of their quirks and foibles make perfect sense and flow logically together.

I guess people assume that criticizing antisocial right wing narratives about women means you think women never do anything wrong or couldn’t be collectively criticized as a political group.
