From what I know it's based more on your profession and the way you were raised, and that they can be broken down into more specific subtypes that more closely correlate to their income level. The working class are usually educated only to the school leaving age with the exception of trade apprenticeships and other vocational certifications, the middle class are usually university educated professionals who range from mostly normal white collar workers to the scum of the fucking earth ruining our country and the upper class have family estates.
