The community as a whole feels like it's gone from just being nicer than WoW to a place where normies are outnumbered by weirdos 10 to 1. I love this game but I hate that it's now considered the "gayest" MMO.

Japanese servers have less troons but I swear to God every gay furry in Japan plays this game. I always check adventurer plates when I see a male hrothgar and 薔薇 makes an appearance pretty often.

Yeah, the later in the week you go, the worse it gets, probably because everyone who wanted/could clear it already did, so now we're the leftovers now. I'm having the same problem with M2S. Last night I've had such wonderful party members as an MT who'd pull the boss with Tomahawk, and then immedately gapclose (which doesn't make any sense, because he can't use GCDs for 2.5s anyway), OTs (yes, multiple), that wouldn't use their stance, so the "split" TB would murder a DPS, shield healers who don't shield the raidwides, and the general "teehee, I forgot my clockspot, sowwy uwu". I've come to appreciate the early bodychecks, because it's better to wipe 2 minutes in than to suffer for like 8, only to realize we've had too many fuckups, and the boss is nowhere near death.

Is your ranged attack not the best way to start as a tank? I tend to hit it and spend the first oGCDs on getting my 2min burst buffs going.

I don't even understand the idea of roleplaying as a trans person.. isn't the idea that you can be what you want to be in the game? Why wouldn't they just be the gender they identify as?

It is. And then you run towards the boss to meet it in the middle of the arena, while your GCD rolls, which this guy didn't do. Instead, he gapclosed immediately after the ranged attack, which means the boss stays north, the melee have to gapclose/run towards it, and then run back when the boss moves middle for mechanics. I don't even play melee, and it seems like a really annoying thing to do.

They have an all-consuming need for validation. Not as an actual woman, but as a troon. It's a mindset that I will never understand. They're basically gifted a completely blank canvas so they can pass themselves off as an actual woman which is supposedly what they want but oh no, oh God no.

Apologies from the normies of Crystal DC. I enjoy RP communities in MMOs traditionally but the reputation Balmung has is totally earned. It's embarrassing and it hurts the other servers on the data center because people flooded it to get on Balmung via server visiting so every other server on Crystal feels like a ghost town in comparison and Balmung is extremely crowded. It's cliché to say but just know it's Not All Like That and you're seeing the worst and loudest of the server when you see the degenerate shit.

Balmung and it's consequences have been a disaster for the Eorzean races.

All that aside I have a question for you boys, how is the raiding this xpac so far? Not just with pugs, how's the static expectations/experience these days, I haven't raided since stormblood since thats when most of my normie friends stopped playing,
I dont think any friend I know who's otherwise kept up in a static ever finished a teir because some kind of drama always shreds statics for them, so wondering if that's just my friends being cringelords or if that's just.... normal now, just looking for a FEEL on the raiding culture nowadays.

It's one thing to have a mod that makes things look better, touch up the environment, give extra textures, etc. But to go so far as turn your character into...whatever the fuck they turn them into, that's going overboard. You're effectively playing a completely different game from everyone else. Imagine paying over 15 bucks a month to look at your trash heap of a character model.

Yeah, it's gross but a good way to spot weirdos. I'm not too good to RP from time to time, though I haven't done so in several years now, but the sort of people to use mods like that are to be avoided by anyone with sense. The gross fetish shit has overshadowed any legitimacy it may have had for cool appearance modifications. So treat anyone with that in their search message as a warning.

Ive seen people who mod their characters to an unholy autistic degree and they even have dedicated instagrams for said character in rather degenerate ways. Honestly it reinforces the motto that i have in ff14 to only play with friends and FC members and avoid any other social interaction lest i say something that magically offends someone earning me a ban. Honestly ff14 is the most anti-social mmo ive play. Of course there are peeps who are cool but the great mayority can suck start a shotgun.
