That "you're not guaranteed a kickstarter reward" (and the boilerplate copied from that on indiegogo) was never intended to let people like Zack off the hook for never delivering their comics it was to protect kickstarter and indiegogo. The idea is "we're going to give a bunch of flaky artists, writers, inventors and mad scientists a way to raise money for their products. We know that some of them are going to take your uranium and give you a fake bomb made from used pinball machine parts. Caveat Emptor, we're not legally liable."

Earlier today a Dynamite comic called Herokillers was posted in the Vito thread with suspicion that some elements were ripped off for Superkiller. However I discovered a different ripoff. Von Klaus character "Black Terror" from Terror in the Trenches is a recycled name/logo. Both have the skull and crossbones and domino mask. Check out the quoted post for pics. Zack just does not understand that he should not be playing armchair psychologist to his audience. If you make the fans feel like clowns for being fans, you get more detractors and less money. His audience has passive subscribers who do not do much, yes-men who agree with everything and buy his products, hardcore anti-SJWs who support anything anti-woke and a small amount of people who actually like his comics. He propably alienated a significant portion of the paying part of his audience. Not many people are going to buy from someone who calls them clowns. He is becoming the SJWs he used to mock. One can argue and disagree with the audience without putting them down and alienating them. Zack has gotten himself to believe that anyone who disagrees with him is an idiot and he will bend himself around that belief. He does not make as much money as others in the CG sphere (ACTUAL CG not EVS CG) because he refused to network with them. He refuses to branch off to other geek hobbies even though comics have been ran to the ground and fewer people are interested than ever now that the MCU dropped in quality. And let us face it, if it was not for Chuck telling him which of his ideas worked, he would be making any money at all as he would put equal effort into both his bad ideas and his good ones.

Reimagining public domain heroes is pretty fun to do, especially finding obscure ones that only had like 30 pages of content that were really underdeveloped. Trying to do honor to the original and keep it fresh can be harder than writing an original character.

Let's explore Zack's "clown" analogy a little more.
It seems that there are two main types of clowns most people are familiar with: "birthday party clowns" as Zack calls them and circus clowns.
Birthday party clowns are small business owners who entertain groups of children to make ends meet. They show up, do some amateur level magic tricks and they fuck off back to their van until the next booking. Some are more successful than others, but many of them have to work other jobs to keep food on the table.
Circus clowns are the top tier of clowning. The birthday party clowns wish they were in the circus. Circus clowns entertain whole arenas full of people. They keep the energy of the crowd up between the main attractions and are adept at not scaring the shit out of kids. They're on the posters for every circus that comes to every town. They're the icons of the clown world. Professional clowns make an excellent living doing what they do.
Which clown is Zack and which are the people he spends all his time complaining about?

There's a parallel universe somewhere in which Zack has made the opposite of every decision he's made since 2018, has a twice weekly livestream where he roasts lame comics and the people who make them, hosts comic creators whose work he enjoys, and releases a Jawbreakers book every year that makes half a million dollars and is basically the Gary of that particular dimension. Our Zack would hate him.

In no way is just taking some already made old thing harder than creating something original successfully (wasn't this one of the original gripes of Comicsgate? just make your own thing stop reimagining old stuff?). A whole strata of Comicsgate scrubs that you are part of are hacks that got rejected by Marvel and DC and later said it was because they were conservatives or some crap. As opposed to the Kings the pros who left and then claimed this. Observing you guys for a few years there's no shortage of reasons nobody wants to work with you. There's no rejection letter from the company for your lapsed copyright old shit.
I should have known the Dynamite comics thing was public domain it's part of a series that Alex Ross started. But I never made the connection with Von Klaus. Did Your (not mine) Boi Zack start this idea of janking public domain properties going for Comicsgaters? He has been salivating for the release of Batman and Superman to the public domain for years. @COMMI3 MARK and @ExGater have also done public domain stuff for reasons, but in their cases it is not due to being an unoriginal manlet.
