Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

Rated autistic out of principle, that said, has anyone made an analog horror about trains? There's no way someone hasn't tried yet.
Yes, why do you ask?

Used to watch a lot of Nexpo. Compared to other channels I watched, he does a good job stringing a story along and making an enjoyable video out of it. I liked his Petscop videos and "The A.I. That Torments You." Kind of like campfire stories, you have to buy into these, as obviously Petscop was a fake game from the start.

Anyone noticed most of these horror youtubers struggle with grammar and pronunciation? I noticed it with Nexpo and Nick Crowley, and Chills obviously has an issue with it too. No idea what that's about. Also their comment sections (especially Crowley's) are filled with complete idiots. More so than usual. I wonder what attracts so many dummies to these horror videos. I've only really checked out Nexpo, Crowley, and Chills. I think I watched some LEMMINO as well. Does anyone have some better recommendations for actual real life spooky stories or ARGs?
I think part of it is because of their "youtube voice". Some talk like they do in their videos but what i notice is that some enunciate so hard they tend mispronounce words.

My conspiracy theory is that youtubers mispronounce words on purpose so that people will post comments about it which will drive up engagement.
I’ve thought the same thing. I’d also wager they originally mispronounce words on accident, get corrected multiple times in the comments, then realize it’s racking up engagement so they just keep doing it in the future. It makes them look and sound very ignorant.

Do you think that Josh does the same when doing MATI?

I never get why native English speakers don't just... look up an English word or a name and learn how to pronounce it correctly. Mispronouncing basic words will get me to click off a video in an instant.
I've started doing this game where every time an ESL uses the wrong tense in their video I say out loud the right one until the video ends.

I remember it being executed pretty well for what it was) is arguably creepier than the original greentext if he did rip it off.
To say I disagree would be an understatement. And as I usually do in this site, I'll be explaining why in painful detail.

Back in the Wendigoon thread, some kiwis were saying that they couldn't enjoy Midwest Angelica, a very good analog horror series for what it is, for two reasons: it has a ton of Christian iconography as set dressing and refuses to use it and, perhaps worse, is a bunch of anime references with almost all of them just being lifted from their source materials.

Well, that has always been my problem with the Mandela Catalogue. Most of the images used in it, like Selene Delgado and the Albanian (now know as The Intruder), I've seen so many times in YouTube and 4chan that they are more funny than scary to me. About a year ago, Kister decided to include Mereana Mordegard Glesgorv in the MC. If you've touched grass before, that's an old creepypasta about a cursed video that would make you gouge your eyes and send them to YouTube HQ. I can't for my life take this shit seriously because most of the MC are images and videos lifted from other places or just very deformed faces. Deformed faces don't do it for me, my first horror manga was Seeds of Fear by Masaaki Nakayama and I read it fresh of primary school.

I, much like Wendigoon, happen to rely on my faith and consider myself deeply spiritual. Yet unlike him the mere worldbuilding doesn't do it for me even in its blasphemy. If I'm being honest, it just reminded me why I can't take exorcism Warrenslop seriously too. All demons can do is tempt you, they laugh at how weak you are for succumbing to temptation and all you've to do to own a fucking demon is go Ghost Puncher and desecrate them. Oh, you larp as Angel Gabriel to tempt me, what if I piss on your edgy Satanic bible while proclaiming how good Lilith is at giving me oral? "God forgot you" you say as I proceed to salt the earth, cap a cultist and remind you that I accept my salvation through action. Gimme as excuse and I'm bringing the Inquisiton back with nukes. Really, subversive horror just reminded me how funny it is to larp Warhammer Fantasy.

In the first episode, is Gabriel being an alternate a) humanity knows they have been duped or b) supposed to be a representation of Mary and Joseph being duped through a fucking fundie cartoon?
What is it, all organized religion knows this or did they find out or only people that work at police stations know it?
Are they demons or not? Everywhere I see says they might be but hasn't been confirmed.

MC stopped being analog horror a while ago, it now uses fucking Vine.

Now, I'm going to tell you why the greextext was better as if this post isn't long enough.

The shortest answer is that unlike if the story had been published in Reddit or YouTube the author gained nothing by sharing the story outside of entertaining people in that thread. That alone helps you suspend your disbelief as a reader.

This thread is told from the perspective of an anon that claims to be able to see future tragic events through dreams. According to said anon, they made 9/11 drawings several years before it happened. Claims other predictions throughout life (Crimea, Iraq and Syria). According to them, women in their family have had this power and it ceases once they have a child. Is able to dream long stretches of time as if they lived them.

The true story is a massive plot of predicitons, happening at some point in the future.
The Middle East will fall, everything but Israel. A space station is de-orbited. Russia invades America through Mexico, gets as deep as Oklahoma. Latin America aids Russia. America succumbs to a Civil War and central government is decapitated. 36 nukes on the Texas gulf. Airstrikes. Electricity and the Internet are lost. General anarchy.

A week after humanity has ceased destroying itself, they arrive. Their textureless ships shaped like large angular bricks, half-emerging from anvil clouds as if heralding a thunderstorm that never came.
We never saw anything come out of them, all we remembered were screams, from everywhere, and these monsters that would peel the skin from children and parents and wear it, capable of imitating the voices of the people whose skin they took, they did this to lure people out of their hiding spots and take them. Killing yourself to escape them wouldn't work, they could reanimate the dead.
I'm not sure what they looked like. They were always wearing human skin when I saw them, it was sort of loose and they would walk upright like humans, but they could run faster than any human, and even faster in all fours. Even the child sized ones were stronger than any human. There was no way to kill any of them either, I don't mean figuratevely, I mean literally in my entire time I had not seen a single one die.
They had a weird sort of glow to them though, like you could see under the skin where they had glowing machinery or augmented bodyparts or something that were part of them. And some of them, the heads didn't look right because you could see the human's skin on them but you could see four or five glowing white eyes under the skin.
The only way to survive was either run, which wasn't advisable because they WILL catch you on foot, or hide until they leave. But even that wasn't too good because they were extremely quiet and would just sit there and wait outside of doors silently until people opened them and then they would take you. The only people that survived were the ones who had already gotten to the middle of nowhere when the nuclear war went down, or those that had basically given away their own as bait to lure them away as they escaped.
Some of them seemed like they wanted the skin as trophies more than anything.
They look like metallic stone. They own large facilities where they keep their prisoners for experimentation. Being it with your exposed viscera or just as a head, you are theirs forever. Most humans were turned into liquid and stored in tubes. The skin stealers would bathe on living liquified humans in pools adorned with symbols similar to Zoroastrian dakhmas. They would continue until most of humanity went extinct. Until the Sun died and there was perpetual twilight. Every light, one by one by one, extinguished. They forsaked us and kept on raping the universe. They weren't even conquerors, but the scavengers feasting on our corpse.

I mentioned Fantasy before, most people prefer 40k. If you know 40k maybe these things reminded you of the Flayed Ones, down to being able to dimension travel. Zoroastrian dakhmas, also known as Towers of Silence are structures for excarnation made in order to keep corpses from contaminating the soil. Corpses in Zoroastrianism are considered to be claimed by the demon Nasu if not disposed properly according to the Vendidad, literally translated as 'given against demons'. Remember, this is supposed to be a prophecy.

I'm not really looking to take anyone's enjoyment away, what actually scares us may be a flat circle even more than time. The Maine Pigman maybe was inspired by Le Cochon Danseur. Dogs Don't Talk may have been inspired by Franken Fran's God & Dog. But maybe not, maybe it all really happened and maybe we want to believe that because it makes the world a little more exciting.

There's something to be said about how media from years ago is enjoyed differently when compared to stuff that gets made today. It isn't tainted by our current expectations of it, It can be whatever the artists meant it to be. Analog horror will always have to deal with audiences making theories, ships and trying to figure out how to survive logically. 4chan greentext can exist as larps, fucked up anecdotes and a little bit of both and we will eat it up.

We shouldn't forget that most of the appeal of analogs tends to be that the creators are very young. Early twenties or late teens. Some of them have some creative ideas, but most prove why most of us weren't uploading our own ideas on a less forgiving Internet.
If there's a lesson to be had is that if you have an idea for a worldbuilding project, take some time of to make it and once you feel ready put it out there. It can't be worse than what we have.
Wear your influences on your sleeves, the best do it. Don't be afraid to recognize who inspired you and tip your hat, as long as you made your work your own.
Plan ahead. Very important if you can't improvise.
Learn to fail upward just like Alex and don't be a coomer.

Dr Wolfula became such a faggot. He could easily be the mascot of all the crap trannies did to horror and YouTube. He spent the video praising the movie for having so much female nudity before crying about the film for being more harmful and damaging to the transgender community than sleep away camp. Because the movie implies a man would have a sex change just to dominate women's sports. When the 2024 Paris Olympics proves this as a reality. He also got triggered by Nightmare on Elm Street 5 having pro-life themes. Including implying being rejected for being a rape baby played a role in Freddy Krueger becoming evil. The same movie confirms that newborns have souls in universe.

Here's a rather fun EAS Scenario one-shot about the sun magically reaching the end of its main sequence within the span of 24 hours and then expanding into a Red Giant in equally as much time. I appreciate the fact that the creator actually remembered that stars don't just instantly go from one phase to the next and have to actively increase their luminosity and expand whilst doing so (which would boil the Earth alive in the process), since this is something even documentaries tend to side-step around, acting like the dying sun would be acting completely normally one day, then the following morning it would already be huge.

However, at the same time, I can't help but feel like scenarios like this, where there is absolutely no hope right from the outset, are a bit unsatisfying. Saying everyone's going to die in this scenario is pretty obvious, so there's no real emotional attachment to make. In other space-based horror/disaster stories such as alien invasions or asteroid impacts, there's that little bit of hope that can be torn away to maximise the pathos.
