I think it was mentioned by Rittenhouse and one of his lawyers that Barnes wanted to grandstand and possibly make a legal martyr out of Rittenhouse by bringing in a bunch of nonsense constitutional arguments, while the lawyers Kyle eventually chose just wanted to win the case for their client in the cleanest way possible. Barnes only ever saw Kyle as a cause and not as a person.

It doesn't have to be a direct statement, it just has to be a rumor that exists. Chrissy obviously seems under the impression that the evidence may be planted.

Part of Barnes pretrial media blitz was having Kyle go to a kenosha bar (while Kyle was underage) and take some selfies with the local MAGA Patriots.

No being underage in the daytime in WI is a gigantic nothing, as you are allowed in bars with a parent before 8 or 10 pm (been about 10 years since I lived in kenosha) but the idea of immediately having him cosy up to the MAGA crowd was bad optics since the media narrative was "maga retard kills blacks" even though the reality was "Retard kills non black retards".

Behind the scenes the rumor was Barnes was creating offshoot arguements about 2-A that would have derailed the proceedings into a 2-A tangent for president setting and appeals as opposed to just winning the 1st degree murder charge.

His professional attorneys were able to drop the long rifle charge as it didn't actually meat the criteria for the statute; Kyle was under 18 but the rifle was not the proper length. So that one just got dismissed outright, which set the table for the 1st degree to be called in question.

Wisconsin has 1st degree murder laws that can circumvent intent if you are doing something needlessly reckless. So you can get a 1st degree murder charge for drunk driving as WI considers the act of driving drunk as so careless that you can derive intent from just the action. Without illegally being there with the weapon the 1st degree murder charges were overreaching. Barnes would have made a bigger spectacle out of a simple dismissed charge, and it was obvious Barnes was clout lawyering as opposed to focusing on the case.

TLDR When the MAGA sing along at the bar came out Barnes was shuffled aside for his retarded optics and aspirations beyond the case.
