Never heard of covid irreparably altering people's voices.
I can attest, I've had it four confirmed times. I lost my voice for months during one of the times but I didn't have a change forever, mind you this includes the fact that I have multiple other issues (he was healthy up to that point as far as we know). The only thing I know of that's changed a voice like that was corpse husband's condition. (I think it was gerd???). Also, for a guy that has lung damage there are certainly few moments where he's out and about and out of breath. Is there even evidence that he has a rescue inhaler? If you have lung damage you have at least one lying around and his pants seemed to have a strong lack of inhaler in the pockets during the awards (I could be wrong, my eyes are notoriously shit)

I think the disclaimer is nice. I still hope he can provide some verification to the mods because the milk thing is big if true.
Something only people at his school at Tustin High School would know:
He tried very hard to "Get control" of the video game club but they refused to elect him because he "Wasn't Club President material" and same with the Otaku Club (anime). You will not see him in the Otaku Club, hosted by Doctor Lewanski, or the the game club. He made effort beyond the grab for power from those clubs from 2002 to 2006. When the Tsunami hit in the 2000s he drew a cartoon wave and the Librarian called it "Waves of Compassion" - trying not to hurt his feelings but completely braindead. His brother, Damian, pretty much stopped caring about everything Jason was doing because "I dunno he's fucking retarded.".
That's all I got.
Edit: I went to yearbook dot com and looked up the 2002, 2003, 2004 yearbooks. He's only in the 2004 that I can tell and does not show up in any of the aforementioned clubs.

I pray you autists dig more examples of his coding, this nigger not knowing what libraries are was kind of amusing.
If you have hours to waste, go to his stream VODs, he (sometimes) shows actual code, it's almost always full of shit that screams "I'm a beginner."

(These streams are 10-12 fucking hours, I'm not archiving that, nigga)

Comments everything, repeating what the function names say.

The game_array is 2D now.
This motherfucker will use lists with multiple dimensions before he will learn what a fucking map is.

Also, who the fuck names a for loop's variable "xx"?

This entire file is literally just comments describing numbers in the array and what they stand for.
The file name probably tells me it's some unimplemented function, but if you need that many comments before you type a line, you fucked up.

This man seems to love his 2D Arrays, doesn't he.
For any aspiring game devs out there, if you're just beginning, hardcoding text like that in your code is fine, but if you ever need to translate your game, you're going to have to manually integrate that shit in your code if you do it like this.
Instead, you should use keys that map to an external translation file, that way, you can just throw that file to translators, they can edit it themselves, and you don't have to go edit ten million fucking files to integrate their work.

Manually changing variables one by one, the surefire way to never accidentally forget one line and introduce bugs that way.
Has this man never heard of a fucking function?

This man is so yanderedev-tier he has nested fucking switch/cases.
The only reason his game runs decently is because it's not a (relatively) bigger multiple-actor sim like Yandere Simulator.

On one end, this man is absolutely a fucking hack and has never spent a second learning how to write moderately-decent code in his life, probably only ever wrote trivial shit like python scripts, and nothing more.

On the other hand, if this man can be successful, and you reading this, with zero programming knowledge, want to make something, well, go fucking do it now, you'll be as good as streamers with over 2M subscribers in no time.

(BTW, Jason, if you didn't present yourself as the next game messiah, nobody would fault you for writing shit code in your first game. Nobody gives a shit about Toby Fox's shitty code)

JASON'S INCONSISTENT COVID CLAIMS

This post will detail Jason's various statements when it comes to his experience with COVID:

1723308024087.png(A)
1723308549998.png(A)
On January 25th 2020, Jason said that he couldn't stream because he was sick for 4 days.

1723308701251.png
1723308718468.png(A)
1723308812503.png(A)
On March 10th and 11th Jason said on Twitter that he had a cold which made him sick for 5 days (Mar 11th - 5 days = Mar 6th).

1723308970390.png(A)
He would reiterate on March 15th 2020 that he had been sick for over a week.

1723309128543.png(A)
On March 16th Jason says that he was still sick but was feeling better.

1723309458149.png(A)
On March 17th Jason went to Urgent care and was diagnosed with pneumonia. Also, he took a COVID test which he said the results would come out in 2 - 3 days.

1723309763822.png(A)
1723309936659.png(A)
According to Jason, the COVID test came out negative and he only had pneumonia.

1723310074278.png(A)
1723310437369.png(A)
On March 24th 2020 Jason said that he was misdiagnosed and actually had severe bronchitis. Also, Jason said that after a day of rest he was feeling much better and he could breath again.

1723311121899.png(A)
On March 30th 2020, Jason would reiterate that he tested negative for COVID-19.

Screenshot 2024-08-10 204148.jpg(A)
Screenshot 2024-08-10 204315.jpg(A)
jason in early April would say that he had a cold over the last month despite saying in March that he had "severe bronchitis".

1723312246472.png (A)
On April 6th 2020, Jason's symptoms would get worse again.

1723312388091.png (A)
On April 10th 2020, Jason announced that his cold was defeated.

1723312758665.png
1723312829417.png
(https://archive.fo/B0iDN)
Jason would continue developing his game, streaming the process and announce a Game Jam for the rest of April.

1723313709868.png
1723314252345.png
(https://archive.is/sI3R5)
Jason would continue streaming, working on his game and he would release about it an update on Steam in May.

1723317163987.png(A)
Jason streamed in June in the following days:
Jun 1st 2020 for 5 hours
Jun 2nd 2020 for 3.8 hours
Jun 3rd 2020 for 40 minutes
Jun 4th 2020 for 7.3 hours
Jun 6th 2020 for 6.2 hours
Jun 8th 2020 for 4.3 hours
Jun 9th 2020 for 8.1 hours
Jun 10th 2020 for 7.1 hours
Jun 13th 2020 for 8.1 hours
Jun 16th 2020 for 4.9 hours
Jun 17th 2020 for 4.3 hours
Jun 23th 2020 for 3.8 hours

1723317021201.png(A)

1723317811900.png(A)
On July 28th 2020 he released an update on Steam which links back to his previous update back in May to explain the "huge gap" in updates. This contradicts what he said on April 10th 2020:

1723312388091.png
Why is he using the May update to explain the "huge gap" in updates in July when he admitted himself that his cold was defeated in April?

2021 comes around and Jason decides to contradict everything he said previously:

1723320168964.png
1723321472973.png(A)
1723324513434.png(A)
Claims: "I was contracted with COVID in Feb 2020" "I have permanent lung damage" "I lost 9 months of development because of my recovery"

1. He never mentioned anything about being sick with COVID in Feb 2020 (you can check his tweets from Feb 1st 2020 - Feb 28th 2020 here). He only mentioned having a sickness for 4 days in Jan 25th 2020 (Jan 25th - 4 = Jan 21th 2020). This claim also contradicts the tweets he made in March 2020 where he said his test for COVID came out negative: (Archive 1) (Archive 2) (Archive 3)

1723321023681.png(A)
2. In Nov 2020 he said "after nearly 8 months of recovery my lungs are well enough to steam and work on a daily basis again". Why does he mention only his lungs in this tweet and not his supposed COVID? Also, he says that he has permanent lung damage but also says that his lungs were able to recover after 8 months for him to stream and work on a daily basis. How are your lungs able to recover from permanent damage? Also Jason contradicts himself in the 2021 tweet thread: "I have permanent lung damage" but "my lungs are much stronger". Again, how can your lungs recover to be stronger from the permanent damage that occurred back in 2020? Also, if your lungs were so bad that you couldn't speak why did you participate at DEFCON 2020?

3. If your COVID was so bad that you lost 9 months of development time to recover, why did you continue streaming and developing the game if your COVID was so bad?

1723322789616.png(A)
2023 comes around and Jason gets another around of COVID. But this time the recovery is only 20 days:

(Preserve Tube)

So the amount of development time he lost due to COVID is according to him:
First Covid: 9 months
Second Covid: 20 days

And to nobody's suprise he decides to contradict himself yet again by saying that he had "Long COVID" for 2.5 years.

If you have hours to waste, go to his stream VODs, he (sometimes) shows actual code, it's almost always full of shit that screams "I'm a beginner."

(These streams are 10-12 fucking hours, I'm not archiving that, nigga)
:story: the hardcoded text had me screaming like a pajeet trying to scam Kitboga, thank you for your hand picked autism.

On the other hand, if this man can be successful, and you reading this, with zero programming knowledge, want to make something, well, go fucking do it now, you'll be as good as streamers with over 2M subscribers in no time.
"game_array is 2D now" made me laugh way harder than it had any right to. Honestly I have to thank Jason and this thread for inspiring me to work on my own games way more than I have been recently, not through plithy pseudo-motivational "you can do it" talk but by being so horrible that it's inspired me to do better out of sheer spite. It's honestly crazy that someone is able to work with a codebase so horrible without necking themselves, and maybe the reason I rewrite shit so often is just that my tolerance for friction is way too low.

It's also nice to know that the art in this game is also... not great. It's just mostly competent Undertalecore with tons of uneven lines, doubled pixels and other "bad practices" that Toby managed to make look good, but nobody else seems to be able to (I imagine we'll be seeing a lot of Cruelty Squad-core games soon that completely fail to replicate what makes that game's art style unironically good).

Found some other stuff looking around, I found a short addressing his changed voice where he claims that a doctor told him "in your early thirties, your voice can change" and that he had a "second puberty" and he seems to go with this story a lot.

In this podcast after a brief skim through he addresses his voice changing again, said similar stuff as the first video but also claims that his doctor told him that "it can happen when you're 60 too" or something but the fact that he's pulling out really specific time ranges like "early thirties" consistently makes me think he's just made up some story to tell everyone because it makes no sense at all.

He also talks about the Crowdstrike outage but he's also just making shit up, he claims that the update from Crowdstrike went out and everything was fine but then Windows got updated and then it wasn't. This is complete bullshit because Crowdstrike released a report of the outage and the cause was the code trying to access a 21st value but the regex they used to parse it only matched against 20 values, they directly accessed the 21st value which was unallocated memory then crashed the PC, why would a Windows update affect this? Why would Crowdstrike release a report saying it's their fault if they had a way out of this? Screenshot of the report below and link here

Aside from that he also talks about how people used Bitlocker to encrypt drives on devices but then says that people didn't store the key properly so because of Crowdstrike they lost their drives forever. I've never used Bitlocker but I'm pretty sure it encrypts the drive when powered off but this would mean that these devices could never once be rebooted or disconnected from power which doesn't even make any sense and even if it was happening, I don't know why you'd bring it up as a serious issue if you weren't just bullshitting to sound like you know what you're talking about. If you knew anything about tech you'd say "those guys are dumb as hell" and "how did they manage to make it this far" instead of "this is a serious problem guys".

Probably more in this podcast if anyone wants to listen, I can dig through some stuff a bit more sometime soon (probably).

I pray you autists dig more examples of his coding, this nigger not knowing what libraries are was kind of amusing.
Was he reimplementing common library functions by hand in his code or did he have a moment where he learned about what a library was on stream? I highly doubt he didn't know about them but it's probably pretty likely he doesn't understand how to use them. If he really didn't know about them, archive that - even as a novice programmer you should know how to use libraries as it saves you tons of work.

This is an amazing OP. I remember when I first started getting spammed with his shorts and thought he was a pretty interesting guy. The more I saw though the more red flags started to pop up. The first of which was when he claimed he had 20+ years of experience while clearly being in his early 30's. The whole claiming "I've been doing this my entire life" as a form of legitimate experience can sometimes fly if someone is really fuckin good at something, but normally it's just a cope. Then once I saw the industry shilling and the bad takes about basically every recent game industry controversy I knew he'd end up being a cow with the skeletons in his closet.

Aside from that he also talks about how people used Bitlocker to encrypt drives on devices but then says that people didn't store the key properly so because of Crowdstrike they lost their drives forever.
When you encrypt a drive with BitLocker it gives you a "recovery key" so that if you change your CPU (which causes the TPM to reset) or you otherwise lose access to your Windows installation (which holds the key), you can still decrypt the drive from another Windows installation. I'm pretty sure that's what he refers to here, because if you have to reinstall your OS because it bluescreens on boot every time, you're going to lose access to the data on that drive unless you have the recovery key stored somewhere off that disk.

What did he even do over all the years he worked? Using libraries is the most basic thing even if you do most basic tier automation work. Or maybe he just copy pasted already existing stuff and hoped for the best...

He's somewhat correct on this, the way Bitlocker works is that the disk is encrypted with one key (the data key) which is stored multiple times on disk, encrypted with multiple different keys.

One of these keys is the recovery key (Looks like 480447-038577-623524-370524-514657-255904-223168-317625) and the other one is the key stored in a chip inside of your PC, the TPM (the chip microsoft requires you to have if you want to use Windows 11).

As the system boots, every single part of the system will write who and what they are to the TPM, if all of these values are correct, the TPM will make that key available, and Windows can decrypt your drive.

If you reinstall Windows, you'll change the values that the TPM gets, preventing key access, and you'll need to use your recovery key.

(Although you can just boot in safe mode and perform the fix, and you won't lose any data)

Hope this (very autistic tirade) helps.

Thank God people are starting to turn on this cow. This dude is such an insufferable narcissistic faggot it's unreal.
He's a nepo baby that loves to say he's a hacker/code wizard/game dev but in reality he was just QA (read: Playtester+) and a "vulnerability engineer" (read: knows how to use Nessus and can fill out a checkbox) at a company his dad literally helped start. He's the "Ifuckinglovescience guy" of infosec.
This shit with Ross is not surprising since he is a massive asskisser- it's possibly his only real skill. His success on Youtube boils down to regurgitating the majority opinion on lukewarm topics and farming engagement. He just picked the wrong opinion this time- the one he probably heard regurgitated at Blizzard for years, since live-service games are their whole shtick.

With his voice, it's the same when he attended the streamer awards so I'm guessing he might be putting on a voice rather than a voice changer but not sure entirely. Video here but can't archive myself at the moment.

Mentioned it earlier in the thread, but yeah you can HEAR the difference. I don't know how an adult can be so insecure about their voice.
I had to block his channel so he'd stop popping up on youtube but never would of guessed he had bitch tits from the myspace girl angle he positions his camera.
Tons of black shirts too to help with it I'd imagine. And his environment is dark too for the camera almost always.

So of note he is referring to people being mad at him over this as a KONY 2012 moment.
Which basically was people going "We need to stop a warlord in some African shithole from using kids in wars." And getting upset at people for not giving a shit
This is nothing like that.
1. This is a serious issue actually effecting people globally that people can actually make a difference in.
2. People are not pissed at him because he had a disagreement on it, they're pissed at how he handled it.
-He insulted Ross, he refuses to even try and TALK to Ross about it who has only been amicable and willing to discuss his concerns.
-He either intentionally misinterpreted what this whole thing was about or was incredibly ignorant of it and went in blindly ranting with a very clear bias.

None of the above especially when you spearhead yourself as an authoritative expert in this shit lets you be immune from criticism. In fact it makes you more deserving of it.
Which is exactly what's going on and he deserves that spotlight on him. ESPECIALLY if he wants to be an authoritative source.
