Elliot Page / Ellen Page - Former actress, starred in Juno. Turned into a pooner and divorced her wife because being a lesbian was not boosting her career anymore. Receives a daily dose of asspatting from Hollywood. Likes to show off her "male" body using fake abdominals.

And the viewing on the show had a massive decline after the third season.
sort of hilarious to attribute it all to her though, of the type of people who are fans of UA; how many are willing to drop the show because of Ellen's transition?
Why couldn't the director just hire a new actor to play the part of the main character? Was Ellen's contract that ironclad?
she's arguably the biggest name of the cast. letting her go would have them end up like The Witcher, where they get canceled once the "star" leaves the show and the show itself becomes a punchline that sours any chance of the rest of them working anywhere ever again. I'm half sure a big reason the show was even green lit was because of Ellen.

Kind of an apples and oranges comparison when you compare someone far more succesful like Henry Cavill to Ellen Page and how he left the show. He left because the writing was shit and that's why The Witcher just rapidly deteriorated in quality, it has nothing to do with the image. And while it's true that people in part watched because of Ellen, the majority left when her transition got shoehorned into the show.

The show had potential and was having a fanbase during season one and two, the show was good until the season finale of season 2. I don't need to say that the show declined in quality on the writing, because it's a dime and dozen on what can you have in Netflix. But you can be certain that forcing Ellen's transition had something to do with it to a degree.

Trans entitlement is real.
Trooners are more violent and rapey, but pooners also won't blink an eye at demanding everyone around them bend the knee- even if it costs others things like money, time, immense stress and possibly their career (think about how many people are now tied to a show that ended up a cancelled, hated money sink)
Keep an eye out for her going to tabloids with a sob story about how transphobic her last workplace and showrunner were, keeping it vague enough so she can come off like the innocent wounded party.

I'm shocked you don't hear more stories of pooners getting uppidy, thinking they are men and then getting the shit kicked out of them.

I watched the entire final season just for the sake of competing it, and while I fully expected it to just be Netflix goyslop, I audibly busted out laughing everytime Page tried to be a tough dood.
The fucking testosterone resulted in the most distorted teenage puberty. voice, all while attempting to intimidate real men who are literally a foot taller and atleast 100 pounds heavier.
Also during the last two episodes, the adoptive father, Hargreaves only addressed Page as "my boy" every single interaction.

Imagine the backlash and subsequent shitstorm of firing a newly-out trans person in current year. The director would've set his own career on fire if he had. I can't imagine any way to get Ellen out of Umbrella Academy unless she herself was the one to ask to be let go.

She entered the show as Ellen, with an established female character. She transitioned in-between seasons and the production of the show has been forced to rewrite the entire plot, plus including a subplot of her character transitioning into Viktor. And the viewing on the show had a massive decline after the third season.

Make of that what you will.
Reading that makes me remember that Shannon Doherty got fired off BH 90210 back in the 90s for getting a haircut.

There are a bunch of stories of pooners being raped/kidnapped/murdered etc... (Teena Brandon's the first one who comes to mind, but also that girl who was taken by CPS after she was kidnapped because her parents didn't "affirm her gender", then was put in a boys' shelter where the obvious happened...) But I'm pretty sure those have more to do with them being women rather than thinking they're men.

Edited because I'm shit at grammar

I actually think they tried to out-controversy Ellen’s whole gig by having the actor who started in season one, aged fifteen and looked and was dressed liked this by the way-

IMG_0598.jpeg
have a storyline where he had an affair with his adopted brother’s wife. The actor is now aged about 19, she is about 34.

It’s all very lolicon too, because his character ‘Five’ is.… omg I’m embarrassed typing this, like, an eighty year old man stuck in a teenage boy‘s body, due to time travel.

I’m sorry. I like sci fi alright. But I’m really embarrassed I can explain this.

I remember an assault where a taxi driver raped an ftm in his taxi and the woman did try and deter him beforehand by insisting she was a man. Happened in the US somewhere, but it's impossible to find now because any search including transgender, rape are going to come up with the obvious mtf cases instead.

Yeah I was more implying them trying to "do doood things" like bar fights, street fights or other crap and then getting BODIED by someone who either hasn't registered that the person is a woman or doesn't care.

Why couldn't the director just hire a new actor to play the part of the main character? Was Ellen's contract that ironclad? I know it would be weird, but certainly not as weird as forcing a trans subplot on the audience and re-writing the entire season - under a truncated schedule, after they'd already disbanded the writers' room.

This must be a pretty unprecented situation the show runner finds himself in. Imagine if your lead actor premeditatedly trooned out, without telling you, leading to months and months of wasted work and time. Then, you have to act supportive and pat said actor on the ass for their "bravery," all the while pulling your own hair out from the extreme agitation and stress they've just wrought upon your world. 2-week family vacation to the tropics, before shooting starts, after you've just slaved for months, bickering with clueless execs and the writers, getting a script together? Yeaaahhhhh, I'm gonna need you to throw everything in the trash that involves your main character. You've been forced to cancel your plans and, hurriedly, rush together untold amounts of rewrites into the script. Everything pertaining to that character must be gone through with a fine-toothed comb. Was someone supposed to look at your lead with disgust in a scene, after they make an off comment? Well, now they're a troon and Hollywood can't have that. Now you get to completely re-tool that entire interaction. Hopefully that interaction doesn't affect any part of the plot, because if it does...that's another scene to rewrite. Also, you must write a whole new subplot to placate your star actor for cutting their hair and lopping their tits off, while everybody tells you how great and brave this walking ball of self-obsession is.

Then, that season sucks and the director gets to listen to everybody tell them how much they've fallen off. What a fucking nightmare.

I get the PR aspect of “getting rid of a trans actor for doing a gender transition”, but I guess Hollywood is fickle

To the question of contracts, I’d have to assume that the idea was just that it’s easier to honor the terms of the contract and then all parties just walk away from a shit show rather than just trying to kill a show or fire an actor, unless there’s some real bad blood like Charlie Sheen vs Chuck Lorre. Or if there’s something where you’re Shown the door for being a dick on set (unless/beyond that’s what the role is).

One thing I’d have to think is what Page’s stock is going to be now. I don’t ever remember our paperboy being super huge, even after Juno, Page’s biggest role imo, but I really doubt Page is at the point of “getting other actors to sign on just because of this name being attached to the project”.

The adoptive father in season 3 is the alternate timeline Hargreaves so he "doesn't" know "Victor" is actually a woman.

Ellen Page is the most well known actress on Umbrella Academy, but she does nothing for the plot besides mope around and throw tantrums. Most of the dedicated audience actually hate Vanya and Number 1 and often argue who they hate more.

Number 5 is the character people love the most as he is the character who pushes the narrative along. Since everyone else is an selfish asshole, Number 5 has to tardwrangle his siblings to save the world. I will admit, this actor is exceptionally good. I'm not saying it's worth subjecting yourself to Umbrella Academy, but he gives an amazing performance as the character that you can really feel his frustration.

If anything good came out of Umbrella Academy, it's that little nigga's acting and this quality meme:

"Chase Strangio"

Chase Strangio? Lmfao I refuse to believe there is a guy called Chase Strangio. It's a fucking joke name. It's like Seymour Butts, Hugh Janus... its It's a fucking fag activist?
Unreal.

All of Ellen's "I'm totally happy now, this is who I was always meant to be" statements reek of cope and desperation, like she's trying to convince herself.
No shit she's "unfailingly careful about her words" she's trying to tell the interviewer she's never been happier while she's got eyes that scream "I WANT TO DIE" and a face like she's just taken a tour of a childrens cancer hospital.

No body is buying it Ellen.
