Can you imagine an internet where WEBP is the only format, yet it's still as unsupported as now?["JPEG is Dying - And that's a bad thing"]
With Google being labelled a monopoly and the Ladybird browser being developed, I hope in 10 years we are finally free of Google's retarded stranglehold on the Internet.["JPEG is Dying - And that's a bad thing"]
Brave Search and DuckDuckGo are already on par with Google's search. Both are not great, but Google is awful. The only things left to replace are YouTube, which should be easy, and Gmail. Every other product Google makes gets shut down anyway. With Google being labelled a monopoly and the Ladybird browser being developed, I hope in 10 years we are finally free of Google's retarded stranglehold on the Internet.
Back in the day. I felt like duckduckgo was a lot worse.Brave Search and DuckDuckGo are already on par with Google's search. Both are not great, but Google is awful. The only things left to replace are YouTube, which should be easy, and Gmail. Every other product Google makes gets shut down anyway.
The AI feature is shockingly useful, but this is largely a case of Google sucking more than brave and duckduckgo getting better. I used to feel depraved using alternative search engines; now I don't even notice the difference.Back in the day. I felt like duckduckgo was a lot worse.
Now days I think its as good or better. Brave is pretty decent too. Plus the ai suggestions are sometimes helpful. Depending what it is.

DDG results can still be "pozzed" to promote The Narrative™, and the algorithm can still be worse than the one of Google.duckduckgo
Use Brave or Tor for browsing, use modified apks if you need to use social media apps, or use something like AdGuard (I'm saying "something like" because I haven't done research on how secure it is, it's just what I've heard of), that, as I understand, is a proxy that blocks ads on your whole phone.
Just don't read those. I don't recall being forced to on a smartphone.MSM propaganda
In some cases it can be faster than on a keyboard, with slide/swipe typing, when you need to send a quick message.typing stuff with a touchscreen
You get used to it. In case the site's dev didn't make a proper mobile version you just switch to desktop version in your browser. Smartphone screens also tend to get larger every year. If you want to, you can decrease interface and font size to fit more stuff.all on such a tiny screen
Still don't like using "smartphone" as go-to way to access the 'net anyway. Just can't type faster on "smartphone" than on keyboard.[...]
That's what I mean by duckduckgo is bad, but Google is worse. DuckDuckGo is awful and mostly the same stuff as Google, but Google is worse. Brave, on the other hand, sometimes sneaks in conservative sources and allows you to search by bias, so brave is better too. It's not that DuckDuckGo is good; it's that Google is bad.DDG results can still be "pozzed" to promote The Narrative™, and the algorithm can still be worse than the one of Google.
Any examples in particular that stand out here?Im so fucking sick and tired of moderator abuse no matter where you go. Even KF is guilty of it.

I didn't know why my programs won't recognize jpegs one day. Turns out windows stealth-changed my regs from jpeg to jfif fnr (supposedly so that all jpegs are now opened with Windows defaults) but this broke shit like explorer's thumbnails.
