Financial analyst here. Seeing a lot of posts about the stock market. Just wanted to add some context.

1. Yes we are currently in a minor correction due to the recent unemployment numbers. This is a just a temporary downturn that will last for one or two weeks at the most.

2. Companies are restructuring as they pivot from a more conservative approach to full-on growth. This is a side-effect of Biden’s recovery and shows a strong economy.

3. Unemployment is high due to layoffs. Companies are already making new positions with a different focus (more growth-oriented, think closing up cost saving efforts while expanding sales). This means the unemployment increase is mainly structural and will resolve itself in one or two quarters.

Tl;dr there’s nothing to worry about. Hold on to your positions. The absolute worse thing that can happen is if we swing the pendulum and elect someone like Trump who will shock the market out of recovery. Vote blue to keep your gains going up!
Jimmy Kramer ovah here.

I hear so many grey haired boomers say "We never used to talk about politics or even pay attention to it" and they all scoff at me when I rightfully tell them, "Yeah. That's the problem. That's why we're here". The Don't Talk About Money & Politics rule is one that devastated society.

Those Boomers are lying, lol. The 60's and 70's were a very politically divisive time. It was the Boomers who started feminism, the Boomers who started to praise and embrace communism, etc.

I think it's the conservative Boomers who decided to play nice for all of these years, which got us to where we are now. It's also the conservative Boomers who think it's childish to care about entertainment and media, which is why we see such blatant propaganda in even the shows that are made for babies and toddlers now.

I understand the philosophy, "I just want to be left alone and grill, man. You do you." The problem with that mentality as we have seen, though, is that these people won't leave you alone.

It is common for the congressional election to follow the presidential election. But, it is not very common and is certainly not a guarantee. Individual congressional races still matter. I agree, most people just vote for one party but that is not everyone. Hell, a few years ago a Democrat won the Senate race in Alabama of all states.
I notice that all your examples of presidency and majorities not aligning are old and all @World Famous Quasi Payer 's examples of how they did are new. Perhaps neither of your are right so much as US politics has become some polarised and lacking in nuance that what was once true no longer is.

We’re entering into Dark Kamala news week. Check NYPost’s cover for Monday lol.

Given @Gehenna 's revelation that various politicos read here I'm going to totally claim credit for the Kameleon moniker I laid out here a few times. Yes, it's kind of obvious but I've never seen it anywhere before I started posting it, so I'm going for it! Let me have this! :)

It's those "conservative boomers" who gave us Nixon and Reagan as a backlash to the 60s and 70s communist agitation and anarchism, they weren't sitting around playing nice

Hmmmm... normalization of political corruption, getting us off the gold standard, amnesty for illegal subhumans and permanent debt to service the military industrial complex.

But tell me more about the virtues of the worst generation.

No surprise there. Same state, too.

All it is is a piece of cloth. I don't understand why people get so angry about the American flag or any of its derivations. They claim "It's about what it represents". I don't own any American flags, and I never will since it "represents" establishment politicians who all dodged Vietnam getting rich off of young men dying for the sake of pride parades in Tehran and Kiev. A piece of cloth is not going to pass laws which do things like bring sodomy laws back or clamp down on immigration or stop public schools from making kids trans. I am at the point where I am almost completely anti-American, and this is coming from someone who, five years ago, would describe themselves as an "American Nationalist". However, the more I watch politics, and the more I study history, the more I have grown to be anti-American. I would now describe myself as a very right wing person who is politically homeless in the US.
I fly a Thirteen Colonies flag in addition to my state flags as I prefer America as revolutionary ideal to America as current reality. Only particular use I have for the 50 stars it is use in the Space Race. What I have done is I have ordered the 48 stars. I have an actual use for it and it can, for me, be flown in honor of the Blair Mountain insurgents and both WW2 and Korean War America. The 50 stars mostly gives a feeling of revulsion now, since the country has been on a downward spiral for most of its time and has well and truly turned into the Great Satan.

Why do you say you have grown to be anti-American? Is it a specific part of history? I feel that America's most malignant influences were in the banana republics, Cold War shenanigans (some of which is more morally ambiguous) and finally in the rise of Globohomo. I think that, put into perspective, the country has acted with a great deal of restraint and compassion compared to how other great empires acted, and it achieved a massive amount for humanity in sciences/technology and creating a system that has both been very long lived (second oldest government of any size) and was and is still quite comfortable both socially and in material living standards.

It's going to shit now, and you can certainly trace a line from old America to today (even without Ashkenazi and Sino-Soviet subversion you still have a homegrown Progressivism that was the basis for all these other things to flower), but I just don't see the US having been an overall negative effect on world history. Often around here I see people try to lay the blame for all of modernity's woes on Nazi/Kaiser defeat, but their interpretation of the events is terrible (ignore everything ugly about the Reich, imagine it as some anti-Globohomo revolt and not a warmongering land grab on other White Christians, assume America forced this gay shit on Europe that Europe was the main originator for, etc).

There is an anthropological concept called “Rites of Reversal” that aims to explain events like Halloween or Mardi Gras. The basic idea is that you give an occasional outlet for people to get their freak on and then everybody gets back to business. Allowing people to openly flaunt social expectations in a way reinforces them. On “Weird Day” you get to be weird, so it reinforces what society views as weird. Anyway, now we live in an era of queer revolution where people are trying to permanently overturn and invert social values. So, it’s not really weird to be weird anymore, and it isn’t fun either. It’s the difference between being drunk on Christmas and getting drunk every day of the year. Point is, it was probably funny when Vance did it, but now it’s serious when people do it. That changes things.
Another one is Negro Election Day. In the South it was the time of year when the Negro would have parades, act White, "elect" ceremonial public officials and the master family would serve them instead of vice versa. Very much like Christmas/Lords of Misrule. (I imagine you're familiar with it, but Christmas itself was like a composite of Thanksgiving feasting, Christmas gift-giving, New Year's Eve and Mardi Gras rites of reversal and hedonism; caroling and gift-giving grew out of reversal rites).

Of course Negro Election Day, for those who observed it, was done with an understanding that the Negro had better be very modest in how far they pushed the play. Have master set the table, chop some wood, something symbolic and very small.

Edit: Can't find this online except as a tiny New England holiday, but I swear I read about it somewhere.

Alain de Botton is a pretentious faggot and says some idiotic things, but his "Religion for Atheists" has an excellent description of these kinds of holidays and the emotional need they fulfill.

I’m gonna be honest I’m not bothering with the DNC tonight. After the RNC I value my sleep over watching trannies and faggots given each other a Rusty Venture. I’ll catch the highlights here with you faggots.
Nothing would make me happier than this DNC being equally or more chaotic than the 1968 convention. Oh how sweet it would be if Kamala was meet with a chorus of boos after accepting the nomination.
It’s got to be putting Kamala voters through a psychological knot of having their leg pissed on while being told it’s raining. Kamala flip flops on her position not because of uncertainty but because she outright lies to appeal on whatever she believes is most popular.

Is there anything quite as pathetic as blindly following whatever's popular just to appear cool. I'd hoped most people would have grown out of that shit after high school.

It's because people abandoned God and Family. Mostly family though. Death of family seriously destroyed cognitive functions of women.

Political ideologies were created well before that. Although I do think that was part of the intended outcome eventually as I suspect political ideologies were created by Satan to get man to worship political deities rather than God. And it worked. Look how many people worship political parties and political figures across the world and worship politically ideological governments in general. They think it's only the government who can give you rights like freedom of speech and willingly obey the government without question.

Unfortunately it doesn't. One discussion I had with a 'man' several years ago concluded when he said "I'd rather them tell me it's raining when they piss on me". Why bother talking any further with such a creature?

The desire for happy go fun times and good vibes overrides a desire for the truth because the truth itself challenges their entire perception of reality. It's why they can smugly lecture someone who's lived abroad on foreign, even the foreigner themselves, on matters relating to said countries when they've only read articles and opinion pieces. It's how they can say someone who's white can't speak on "black issues" while screeching at a black person for disagreeing with them in the same instant. Perception IS reality for them. With their identity being completely wrapped up in the clown show; anything counter to it is essentially a death sentence.

Kamala flip flops on her position not because of uncertainty but because she outright lies to appeal on whatever she believes is most popular.
Same as above.

It’s honestly mostly the entertainment industry that pushed that image. Conservatives in the US and UK were defanged and “compassionate Conservatism” was pushed. You can not

People like Norman Lear undermined alternative Conservative movements back in the 70’s and 80’s. Through PACs and through media portraying them as backwards hypocrites and blowing up any controversy that happened with them.

Citing anything pre-1990 is tantamount to citing politics from a completely different country. Which ultimately it is a different country, and I dare say citing anything pre-2000 is similar. For proof of this assertion, look at Nixon's 1972 landslide. That type of victory wasn't possible in the 90s, 2000s and it definitely isn't possible even today.

Democrats see Republicans as their existential enemies. They don't vote Democrat for any real policy reason, but because they hate and fear us. There's no party fluidity like there was in 1972.

Political ideologies started ruining society when they were conceived. Governance should be via science, facts and logic.

Look up Lysenkoism to see how well something like that works out in reality. If you make science the center of your governance, all you've done is made it a target for those who would pollute and pervert it to their own ends. Look at how rife with bullshit the social sciences have become and how many fact-checkers that slip in lies and propaganda and tell me you want governance to be based on that with a straight face.

At best you can hope for a group of citizens who will use truth and logic to come to their own decisions, but that's a people who hardly need government in the first place and can take care of themselves.

the modern mythos of communism versus capitalism was quite literally created to engineer the creation of the state of israel and ironically the nazis the holocaust are the consequences of what im talking about, not the cause like people insist. stalin purged the mensheviks after he created the Jewish Autonomous Oblast and the mensheviks were literally just zionists. but, like, this was 20 years before world war 2 and the holocaust, and this is generally considered forgotten history because the zionists were only interested in having a country in the levant, not the ural mountains. the massive movement of jews out of russia and into mandatory palestine in the 20s and arguing whether to side with the soviets or the americans has a ridiculous amount of historical ripples and despite that its something that people generally refuse to consider about history

The Silents started all that shit. Gloria Steinem was born in 1934. One of the youngest of that crowd was Andrea Dworkin, born in 1946, the boundary between the Silents and the Boomers. The worst generations are those in-between ones who have nothing really going for them and decide to start shit just for the sake of starting shit.
