Public figures meaning politicians or celebrities, not cokehead streamers. And crimes of moral turpitude meaning something along the lines of the Ohio State University sex abuse scandal or kidnapping a child and torturing them to death. Not being a cokehead hoarder.
Obviously much of those guidelines are based entirely on opinion, but I believe a false rape accusation can easily ruin somebodies entire life and therefore the option for a private trial should be available to the majority of parties who ask.

You would think Nick Rekieta's attorney would be familiar with the practice of not broadcasting minors who are testifying during a trial that's being televised and garbling their voices, given that I'm familiar with this practice--from watching Nick Rekieta's trial livestreams!
Even if this wasn't commonly done, though, it's almost too retarded to rebut (leaving aside the allegation that, what, we only want to see a coke fiend's trial because... we're waiting for the child to testify? huh). How often does the State call in children to testify against their parents in drug cases? I imagine it happens sometimes, in some situations, but I cannot believe that it is a winning strategy except when dealing with extraordinary neglect and abuse. There's currently no indication whatsoever that any of his children would need to be witnesses.
