Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

I find Az entertaining. I think he was best one on FNT as he wound up the others so much. It is a little strange that he gets so upset about such mundane shite, but he is probably just playing a character. He is also one of the few who is actively trying to improve his life in a age of Rekeita/Boogie/Warski's. Yellow Flash is as tedious as fuck and I will never understand how such a boring cunt ended up doing so well. I used to like listening to EVS on the High Council but the endless hours after hours of bitching about Rippa has basically turned him into Yellow Flash 2. Zach used to be this nice guy who would spend 2 minutes in a 20 minute vid talking about a comic, then coughing, looking at the traffic, etc. Kind of strange how he's gone down the Ethan Ralph route.

Wes is mostly just saying that when the show launched, their rationale for swapping Penguin's sex was that Batman didn't have enough memorable rogues, which is so unbelievably retarded.
Batman 's Rogue Gallery is infamous for how good it is. They are not just good, they are flexible and infinitely expandeable too. That take is more hot and retarded than a burning lobotomy patient.

Not to defend those movies, but Zack has very basic tastes: 80s violence with Stallone, Ahnold, VanDamme, period. Anything too fancy or weird from before 2010 whooshes past him. The guy clearly doesn't quite get Superman because of this.
Superman and Batman are a good barometer for this. It is fine to not like them but if you do not GET them, the genre is not for you.

Zack wants to toss out everything about Spawn except the way he looks and turn him into a typical soldier-type character with superpowers. Early Spawn (I haven't kept up with it) had a lot of horror elements. Spawn's look with the cape and the chains is, in my opinion, intended to lean into a gothic horror theme. Hence the whole deal with the devil, Hell-spawn element. But yeah, let's just turn him into generic soldier man (Zack) who got powers from aliens and toss out everything from all his most popular comic, cartoon and movie appearances. Great idea.
Glad to know that his brain bleed has yet to progress to the point where he does not recognise how cool Spawn looks but he is proof of the saying that the military will destroy your artsy creative side. Everyone of his characters is the typical soldier-type of one flavour or another. There is writing what you know and then there is the inability to learn a new thing which leaves you an one-trick-pony. I think Zack understands this on some level (though not by much as he has shown) which is why he bitches about how he wants to write G.I. Joe and why he stopped writing superhero stories as he made all his superheroes the soldier-type. Also, did you notice how much he used to complain about SJWs transforming already established characters into themselves only to wish to do the same with Spawn and others? Zack and those that think like him are the reason good editors are more valuable than gold in this industry.

This is like literally the most studio take I've ever seen.
"Hey let's take this thing that is popular, and remove the stand out elements that make it popular!"
[Beat]
"How could this have failed?"

I mean it's like movie titles. Does anyone remember the movie title about a guy who gets a computer installed in him? It was called "upgrade" - anybody remember it? Now who hear remembers the film "long kiss goodnight"? Both are super generic as far as plots go. But one has a title that can stick in your brain because it's pretty distinct while the other is so generic and unmemorable you'll struggle to remember it the next day. You need that unique hook to stick in people's minds and be remembered.

No, Wes and Aaron just disagreed with his retarded Batman take. Aaron is of the opinion that Bruce Timm was the weakest link in the creative team of BtAS, and that Paul Dini and Dwayne McDuffie were more responsible for the DCAU of that time. Aaron even cites some of Timm's post BtAS work to back up that statement, though I haven't seen enough of his stuff to judge. Aaron also alleges that Female Penguin being in a cabaret is appealing to Timm's fetishes, and says that Timm was always pushing for Batman to hook up with Batgirl which most fans found weird as fuck.

Wes is mostly just saying that when the show launched, their rationale for swapping Penguin's sex was that Batman didn't have enough memorable rogues, which is so unbelievably retarded.

Zack is just continuing his fucking spiral, fuck knows why.
Dini was the writer and McDuffie excelled at adapting stories to the TV format. Timm is a great artist and character designer but he's never been much of a writer. He has his particular obsessions, like his Bruce with Barbara pairing. Timm has always needed other writers to reign him in.

Which is... interesting if you read Dini's semi autobiography comic.

The more I research, the more I realize it wasn't any single person or factor that made BTAS the mega hit that it was. It was literally combining all the talents of those involved that got it to work. Their combinations and restraints on each other made perfection. Remove any component from the staff, and it falls apart.

That was an interesting time in US TV animation. It's probably unlikely we'll see it duplicated. So many things happened due to BTAS, there were the obvious shows like Superman the Animated Series, Justice League, and Batman Beyond as well as unrelated shows like Gargoyles. I'm honestly convinced that The Big O only exists because Sunrise animated a number of episodes of BTAS and wanted to do their own take on the idea if it were a mech show.

The reviews I've seen for Caped Crusader have not been kind to it. With the exception of Zack, the overall consensus seems to be it is mediocre at best. I think it would probably have been a better show if it didn't have to follow ESG mandates. Has Zack talked about a lot of animated shows? I see he talked about this and X-Men '97 but I'm not sure he's mentioned any older ones except to say things like "Batman the Animated Series wasn't very good" in passing in one of his X-Men '97 videos. Zack telling me a show is good, fine or "solid" doesn't incline me to watch it, since he likes a lot of stuff that is pretty bad.

Why try to be SFO when he was already JFG?
"Heather, ma chérie, I'm sending you mon schedule so we can arrange a date for l'insémination."

His belly full line makes me think, how muck may Meyer have squirreled away as savings from his crowdfunds.... He's made what... two mill. total? How much may that be after production, delivery costs and taxes? Does his daily bills (food, utilities, whatevs.) even factor in?
Does he not have to pay child support at all? Has he completely abandoned those kids?

No, Wes and Aaron just disagreed with his retarded Batman take.
Wes posts 15 videos a week shitting on comics and nobody bats an eye. But he posts one single video on a cartoon and Meyer quits youtube.

It is a little strange that he gets so upset about such mundane shite, but he is probably just playing a character.
There's definitely some AVGN going on, but I saw a bit of his Hogwarts streams when that came out. He's the kind of streamer that will single out a guy in the chat to fight him over pointless shit.
I can't say I hate him overall though, because I find him to be harmless.

I was going thru 4chan looking for topics to read and I can across this and was remind of how much @FROG fumbled with getting allies with any sort of follower base to work under his comicsgate umbrella. And then it hit me. Why haven’t any comicsgate or and right-leaning comics or indie projects hit mainstream? I mean, with people like DailyWire and X and Fox you’d think this kind of stuff would be adapted and plastered everywhere. But nothing just has the same reach as even something like Paramount or Universal or even Disney. New Norm and Bircum both got homo fanfic’d and privated and Rippaverse isn’t as influential as many thought it would (at least not yet). Not to be conspiratorial but it’s strange that so many attempts to be the next big thing and take down the mainstream likes of the big 2 nothing has actually achieved that. Half the nation would probably gobble this I think, but no.
Mr. Birchum is just a shit show with shit, preachy writing that embodies why conservatives can’t do storytelling or animation for shit. I have no hope for DW to make quality content. The Rippaverse just started so we’ll see where it goes.

Yes, that's part of what I mean about him having a very narrow view of what makes a good story. For a more detailed explanation, I'll turn to the man himself:

I can't imagine this is a pitch to Todd McFarlane since I imagine he'd be disgusted if he ever happened to watch this video, but Zack might be that delusional.
Jesus Christ, he's become everything he once hated. He's basically saying Spawn should be changed because HE doesn't personally like it and wants it changed to suit his sensibilities.

Okay Richard C MarkWaid.

I kind of gathered Meyer was more mad he wasn't part of the Marvel sjw club than truly had set values against theirs/thems. Maybe he only started picking apart their/thems tweets because of his exclusion, not because of any ideals. Anyone who ever followed or paid attention to or joined or even fought against Comicsgate projected their own idea of what it is onto it because there is no set values. So he was always going to disappoint. Plus comic book writers are dummies. Comics were known as the lowest form of art pre-Alan Moore, the wide acclaim of Killing Joke and Watchmen really changed the whole comics are trash thing. It takes a dumb guy to say make comics dumb again so that's why simple Zack worked for a time. But now he's exposing the flim flam no values that is the variable it is whatever it needs to be to convince people to buy stuff post-Scivergate Comicsgate.

In fairness the music in Batman the Animated series was great too. It was a case of been in the right place at the right time. Animation was amazing for the time, had the success of the Burton Batman films to grow upon and is easily one of the best portrayals ever. I'll always have a soft spot for the Justice League and Batman Beyond series too. Justice League made so many minor characters interesting. This is the stuff I grew up to. As a Marvel fanboy it's strange these were the best cartoons ever.

Oh no, you attacked a bunch of popular people with a huge fanbase, and now you're experiencing some blowback, and that's stressing you out. Who would have guessed that your actions have consequences?

Attack the real fans, fans get mad, smug attacker cries about it online. He has 100% turned into an SJW.

1000 4 year disgruntled backers with free rain in discussion on igg. Hellifying!
Being comically late on outstanding obligations to provide goods for customers who paid you, not stressful.

Being clapped-back at for trash-talking fans who have their own opinions, very stressful.

Remember that period of time when Ya Boi kept talking about how he would much rather just work some regular 9 to 5 with the normies? Take your own advice, Zack, and do that instead of continuing to be one of the biggest hypocritical clown shows on the internet.
