Do streamers even still use soundproofing? Most streamers I see these days don't have any, that is visible at least, and I assumed noise reduction had just gotten good enough to the point it wasn't needed anymore and only OG streamers had it from back in the day.

I’m genuinely surprised he didn’t get the ARRGEEBEE hexagon lights that are obscenely expensive. He probably didn’t know what shape he was looking at.

It's just him being excited to do something other than play video games to fill his streaming time. Any other time he gets asked to do something different he says he can't because changing the schedule isn't fair to the viewers who showed up for whatever garbage he's doing. But he'll cancel anything to do some random garbage unboxing, setup, installation, oh lets look at this new thing I bought, etc. stream. He hates playing video games and is a consoomer and loves buying/showing off his new toys.

Gotta give credit where it's due, between foam set up and Phil's PC stream, he's actually provided legitimately entertaining content. It isn't entertaining for the reasons he wants it to be, but god damn, I can't remember when I actually laughed at a Phil stream.
