Mega Rad Gun Thread

If you could bring one discontinued firearm back into production what would it be? Mine would be the HK P7M13.

I just want colt LMG uppers back in production.

If you look close you can see where the forward assist was in the forging.
It was simply milled off before finishing and anodizing.
It's strange to see that.
The Colt LMG I had in my hands definitely had a FA.
The Colt LMG fires from an open bolt, so FA wouldn’t function.

Eta:

The open bolt gun does not have a forward assist nor does the bolt carrier have the forward assist notches. The reason for the lack of the forward assist mechanism is due the way the gun fires every time the bolt carrier goes forward. If it had a forward assist, its use forcing the carrier forward would result in the gun firing with the assist pawl engaged with the carrier. This would have been dangerous for the gun and the user.

I know they are open bolt, I've had one in my hands and seen the inside of one with my own eyes.
The example I saw had a FA, there was no pawl on it but it was there.
It is a very odd gun.

i imported (and sold) some Unica and MTR parts and tools, as i have a Unica 6 Hunter and was interested (at the time) of becoming an importer for Tanfoglio's line of steel CZ-based frames for my own pistol-making ideas rather than enter to very crowded Glock and 1911 space. unfortunately after some successful orders i was told that there was a change in ownership and the export license would be renewed under the new company and owner who had apparently bought out the previous management team with VC and crypto cash. unfortunately that cash dried up and the VC took their ball once they had a big enough return, so the current state of the company is in bad, complete with violation of Italian firearms export and manufacturing laws as well as some finance stuff going on regarding scams/fraud with banks or laundering or something possibly crypto related.

very sad situation.

i have put hands on both a pre-sales Diemaco LSW, early Colt model 606A, and production Colt model 750's and none of them had an FA of any kind, only the shell deflector. a Dutch export version sold by Diemaco as the LOAW did have the FA present, although it wasn't functional. the Colt model 950 (now the Colt Automatic Rifle) also lacked the FA, but the LOAW had it. i assume it's a cost saving measure of some sort, since having a button pinned in place or non-functional is inexpensive vs having a split production line for finish machining. note that both Diemaco and Colt make the LSW/LMG variation and Diemaco has a license that allows both production and export as well as changes, so my assumption is that Diemaco kept the FA and just made it non-functional, while Colt had varying ways of deleting it entirely.

I have an oddly specific question but...

...What  two guns (used by two people simultaneously) for home defense/general range training would be better than  one great gun by one person for the same general price point? I don't have lots of cash but I do have friends, and I'd rather have a trusty battle buddy than a tacticool gun if things ever get kinetic.

two AR-15s since they're both cost effective and parts/ammo/knowledge is readily available. instead of an LWRC you have two BCMs or something.
