racing games - no not racist games you fucking ni

I heard that the "legally borrowed" versions of FH games are somewhat playable, but I'm not sure if the online functionality works.

And here are the "Backstage Cars" that will be available in FH4, once the Festival Playlist is retired in August. The Pre-Order cars (except for the Porsche one, which is an Eliminator level prize) will be available:

I've got a couple friends who tried the pirated versions of FH with the online patch - seems like you just need to make a dummy Xbox account and you're good to play online.

The GT7 July Update was revealed at the GT World Series event:

For all this time, I didn't realize that the 430 and Gallardo weren't in GT7, before this upcoming update.

The live-action version of Driver (which would have sucked), appears to have been cancelled:

But yet, Ubisoft is still wanting to rape its grave still, somehow.

Forza Horizon 5's Series 36 has been revealed. This season's cars include the VW Thing and SP2, Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato, and the RF version of the Mazda MX-5:

The paid car pack should be nicknamed the "Gran Turismo car pack", since it has 90's JDM cars that GT fans would clamor in GT7:

Speaking of Forza Horizon, FH4 is currently on sale for Xbox's Ultimate Game Sale. $20 would net you the Ultimate Edition with its DLC. Not bad, especially since it's getting delisted by the end of the year.

It's tempting to buy it to mop up achievements and to have a complete version after it goes away.

Nacon revealed a $250 Special Edition version of Test Drive Solar Crown Unlimited:

And they posted another trailer for the game, but the marketing still seems to be very lacking, considering the game releases in about a month:

There have been some changes made from the Demo Version, namely with the driving physics, but the small car roster, some notable car brands appear to be missing (i.e. Honda, and the Korean car brands), and being unable to share liveries with other players on launch (I think), doesn't bode well for the game, if custom liveries are important for you in a racing game:

and the cars are still left-hand drive:

Why bother to set the game in Hong Kong if you can't get the most obvious detail right?

Why bother to set the game in Hong Kong if you can't get the most obvious detail right?

It could be due to the game being originally developed for an LHD location, but changed it to Hong Kong at some point during development, or Nacon was simply too lazy/cheap to scan RHD models, given how Nacon is a much smaller developer than PD and PG/T10, and since TDUSC's car list is very barren, compared to most other racing games.

And Fanatec's situation has gone from bad to worse, as their parent company filed for bankruptcy. With RECARO's and BBS's parent companies also filing for bankruptcy, it's showing how the economy is imploding, and how private equity firms run companies right into the ground.

Players who buy the $250 Collector's Edition of TDU Solar Crown will NOT get the pre-order bonus items:

Why even DO pre-order bonuses if it'll just be released at some point after for everybody?

Some games do make it that pre-order bonuses can never be obtained, if you don't pre-order. And as for TDUSC doing this, it's probably again due to incompetence.

FH5's next update will include just the usual 4 cars, and no DLC pack. Aside from the newer Focus and Fiesta STs that were not sold in the US, the highlight car of this update is the Toyota Camry TRD:

I also find it odd that Gran Turismo never included a Camry in their games, aside from the NASCAR Camrys in GT5 and 6, I think.

And Update 11 for FM23 includes the Road Atlanta track:

Genki, a Japanese video game company known for making obscure racing games mainly relates to drift battles, touge races, and wangan races, has started a countdown for something within less than few days from now.

TDUSC recently had a Closed Beta for console players who pre-ordered the Gold Edition, and will have another Closed Beta for the Silver pre-order console players:

The Beta being only on 30 FPS, is still a "work in progress", and is only available for console pre-orders, screams that this game will be a shitshow on launch.

Here's some gameplay from the Beta, but what the fuck is this introduction?
