Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

What are the chances they still make a 2nd season by disguising it as a new show?
It'd be a season two with no characters from season 1. Bringing back Smilo requires an explanation why he's not with Occupational Health and Safety Administration anymore. Bringing back Lesyle's Green Bean is the same as brining Headland back influence-wise. Maybe that Senator guy can come back; he didn't do anything wrong.

If I had to use High Republic characters at all, Trinity is only one worth building a show around as a prequel. Master Squid Games can't work because he's too linked to OSHA. Still not worth the trouble though.

The only way I can see them continuing the story from S1 is to do it in comic form or novel form. That might look like a massive downgrade to those who worked on the show or to people who actually liked it, but that's really the only way I see it and there's less risk going that direction than trying to spend $200m on a season 2 that would definitively flop.

How can they act triumphant at D23 when the ACKolyte is cancelled, there's no news on ACKsoka, and the Mandalorian trailer is easier to find on the internet than coke was on the early days of Silk Road.

Disney is probably in danger of losing money overall on their Star Wars franchise acquisition at this point.
They already did. Or they never technically started making money on it. They got fucked on merchandising, TROS barely broke even and Solo flopped, the EA deal turned out to not be profitable, and all of the TV shows being Disney+ exclusives means that how much they actually make is pretty much unknowable, but their numbers haven't been good.

>Star Wars: The Acolyte Cancelled After One Season

Welp, I guess that answers half of my question.

And of course the reactions are about what I’d expect

I got the sense from twitter and this thread that more of the old guard fans boycotted this show ( I know I did). There were no memberberries in this like Mandolorian or Obi Wan. Lets hope the trend continues with Skeleton Crew.

The EA deal I can kinda have some sympathy for non-gamer Boomers. To Boomers, EA looks like a large, successful company that makes video games every year. Knowing about how EA devours smaller companies instead of making games is not the sort of thing they can know. Still a match made in hell though.

Also this puts High Republic into a multibillion dollar flop, since the books, comics, and now this show has flopped despite the massive amount of money to either shill it, remind people of it existing, to drive botnet, and to silence criticism.

Aint like shits gonna improve over there in the star wars ghetto but whatever, will probably get some amusement from sobbing retards over this until they find their new set of jangly keys

Star Wars is just one big sunk cost fallacy. They spent billions getting it to be on the level of marvel when
  1. It doesn't have international(Chinese) appeal
  2. It can't gain a newer audience because it's low quality and low effort
  3. It soured old fans since TLJ
Each one of these spiral into each other. There's no appeal overseas because it's an American cultural phenomenon, and the injecting of politics kept it being American. No one new from overseas is interested because it's such low quality. Since it's so low quality the talent that would want to work on it, don't. Even if some people want to work on it, they get harassed by angry fans. Because Disney has pissed off so many already autistic fans, the whole conversation around Star Wars is overall negative. The huge fanbase is fast evaporating because of Disney low quality / politic baiting, and overall negativity. Disney attacks the only people keeping their shit-heap afloat. The old fans are the only people keeping this up because all their effort to bring in new blood has failed spectacularly, and Disney thought they wouldn't need people who like star wars(?).

tl;dr it is sinking, SW should be regulated to a section of disneyland

The only thing that sort of ruins the schadenfreude for me is that they aren't actually sad. They are simpering rattards doing what their handlers tell them - and like jannies, some of them do it for free. They will feign sadness and the destructions of transrights or w/e and then they'll get their NPC programming update to drum up hype for next product and never think about whatever CURRENT PRODUCT thing they were instructed to emote about.

The really sad thing is while China understandably doesn't want to pitch stories about rebels overthrowing and conquering an evil empire, the sequels could have gotten full CCP support if they hadn't been so focused on Year Zeroing the whole franchise.

- New, better, more equal government dealing with the remnants of the old, evil empire.
- Imperial Remnant ripe for factional violent a la Warring States
- Luke with a full skill tree unlock could be training people in wirefu.
- Probably buy a 5% stake and get them to put in some scenes of the genocide of Space Tibet being the best for everyone.

This reminds me of that awful Watchman series a while back. Because it was lead by a black woman in 2020 BLM era, it got 9/10 reviews from critics, audience score be damned. However, no one seemed to wonder why it was never reviewed for a second season, despite being reviewed so well. I suspect most of the lefties who rated this 10/10 are just quietly going to be quiet about it now.
