No both hd collection versions are horrible, you couldnt botch that port harder if you try.

Why is James dodge rolling in a duel against PH? He also faster than him (even in that hilarious second phase where pyramid head gets grumpy and suddenly decides his sword, a symbol of burden isn't that heavy) in this massive room compltely defeats the point of that boss.

yeah, I got the in water ending. I watched the rest on youtube. They're all sad in their own way (apart from the aliens and shiba inu ones ). normally I complete a game then forget about it. Silent hill 2 I was still thinking about it days after.
imagine hearing radio static and then a big flesh sock tries to attack you, nothing more horrifying.
The leave ending is a happy one, in a way Laura is a daughter left behind by Mary and it gives James meaning in life to take care of her.
I think that's more an issue with modern games where none of them are good so you're just happy to be done with them. Though SH2 has a great story and closes out very well regardless of your ending thanks to Mary's letter narration. Unless you get the maria ending but almost nobody gets that one first.
yeah thats probably the best one, I should have maybe used the term melancholic instead of sad. The leave one is still sad in its own kind of way given the story.

At this rate one could reinterpret all of SH 2 into a metaphor for Konami's handling of the series.
