I've said this in another thread, but I met an artist once who told me how she kept running up against the expectations of "black art" and how shitty it is. People who say certain producers/curators/etc demand a "minstrel show" are talking about valid concerns.

this isn't actually true just to black people. i've been to many modern art shows, beautiful art, incredibly talented paintings and glorious sculptures put up against, and losing to, dogshit baby doodles
my theory is that they're artificially trying to replicate the "misunderstood artist" trope- they wanna say 'i knew it was great before the world acknowledged it' but they don't actually find it great, they just wanna be the first in line to say it

I always fuck that dish up and it drives me up a wall. If I try to do it in the pan the cheese seizes instead of forming an emulsion, and if I try to do it in a bowl it’s too thin and the sauce is still grainy. Any tips?

I take a few spoonfuls of pasta water about 2-3 mins before it finishes cooking to make the sauce, transfer pasta to a pan (pre-heated with OO+fresh cracked pepper). Stir the pasta around a bit & get it nicely coated in OO/pepper mixture while on the lowest heat setting, then remove the pan from heat, add the sauce on top and combine. Always turns out much better for me and the cheese doesn't melt together and become stringy.

Yeah, it actually is kinda sad. And not even just for the "wow, black people would be so much better off", everyone would be better off if we didn't have 10% of the population committing 50% of the crime. because you know where your hands have been and that you washed them, you didn't know whether the fork you're handed is properly washed

I've literally met people who eat everything with their hands even when offered silverware who claim that it's "too hard" and they "don't know how" to use a spoon. Many of these cultures evidently have the fine motor skills of a 2 year old. I wouldn't be surprised if part of it is they don't want blacks mimicking White styles of art. Hence they push non-traditional styles over the traditional which tend to be from White people. Anything that is White is evil to these people. It could also just be a case of the art reflecting the artist. The ugly art is probably made by the ugliest sheboons and the people pushing it are equally as ugly. There is a reason why modern art is ugly, it's the people making and pushing it.
