HoI4 is always going to become a laggy piece of shit eventually as more and more divisions get inevitably created, though it's not as bad about this as Stellaris.
It isn't just divisions but also puppets for some odd reason. There's a mod called Alone Against the World that as the name implies is you versus everyone else, and the maker had to change the Red Tide option to everyone being allied with the Soviets instead of puppeted on account of it lagging to shit.

Tinto Talks 26 is out, and oh boy:

Extraterritorial Counties
These are countries that are based around the buildings they own. They can’t own land directly, but can have subjects that own land. Their buildings often have pops directly linked to the building, and those pops are also tied to the country.

One risk with them is that they need to keep positive relationships with the places they have buildings in, or they may not be able to survive.

Can't way to see how Johan is going to use this play out his vendetta against Prussia this time.

Still cautiously optimistic about EU5.
Hasn't Prussia been super fucking OP since forever?

Yes, back when in EU4 launched its national ideas had +10% Discipline in them, hence the Prussian Space Marine meme.

However that's irrelevant because Johan would always refuse to give it Prussian Blue and instead kept sticking it with different colors to spite the community.

It has been Prussian Blue for years now, they fixed that.

OMG OMG OMG OMG

I can't believe these chads actually added something like that holy fuck holy fuck

Do you think American Indians are going to be a Society of Pops, so that there will be overlapping jurisdictions with colonies and the Indian tribes that live within their claims? I'm sure that hordes will be army based countries, the Papacy will be extraterritorial, and so on.

Edit: OMG they do I'm gonna COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

I'm going to reenact the time the Pennsylvanians invited the Shawnee in and then the Shawnees wrecked the place like rapefugees

You can make the dang Republic of Pirates in a way that's historical (without having them be a Nassau OPM with a merchant republic-like mechanic)

Theoretically you can make the Jews a country

I'm hoping the Papacy will be syncretic. It held proper, large swaths of territory in Italy, obviously, but a lot of its power was that it held bits and pieces everywhere too. It would be a great way to have the Reformation if they lost their monastery lands around Europe as it plays out.
I'd have to check again but I don't think the different types preclude land ownership, they just don't make existence conditional on it.

This actually plays a lot like how I wanted CK2 to eventually implement theocracies (which was based on a guy's proposal on Paradox Forums). An empire of monasteries, cathedrals, universities and crusader castles across Europe, across jurisdictions.

Edit: Extraterritorial can't own land
Not sure I agree with that. At all. Aside from the Papacy, that restriction makes no sense for trade companies either, whose whole interesting shtick is that they did become territorial states in the end.

I am an eu4 veteran who has done a wc. It's going to crusader kings 3 going to be starting from scratch?
