They're worse than "thumbs up their asses" do nothings, there's a notorious pipeline between industry and FDA, people go from the FDA to industry vice versa. Before the wuhan flu brought on the trust the science nonsense, even NPR was writing about the potential conflicts of interest, albeit in a toothless way. The FDA doesn't sit back and do nothing, they actively let pharma dictate policy until it is no longer possible without massive backlash.

It's one of the biggest outlets for Trump to get his message to everyone, it's no wonder they're mad and were happy to have him banned. Meanwhile you have terrorists that were still openly able to speak on the platform. Plus, it still gets airtime on TV because they have to cover him, he's a ratings draw despite how badly the talking heads hate him.
