One less radical solution might be to reduce constituency populations by increasing the number of MPs. You'd still have the FPTP silliness, but you'd get a more representative spread. It would mean a few MPs having to sit on one another's laps, but they probably do that already.Something to note about the UK is that MPs are elected locally, the votes for reform were spread around the whole country and only areas which are full of old working class white guys (Clacton & Skegness, for example, are both seaside holiday towns with old populations) ended up with enough local votes to put Reform people in charge.
