I legitimately find it to be a serious concern that government funds taken from citizens is being used for THIS rather than, you know, helping provide housing and rehabilitation for the homeless, childcare for impoverished mothers, healthcare, better prison security, better border security, drug rehabilitation and usage presentation, stronger law enforcement, etc... You know, shit that legitimately prevents people from dying and provides safety & security to the communities whose money funded it. Interesting idea. There are 3 parties involved: Norwegian taxpayers, the Norwegian Government, and the game studio. If I was a Norwegian taxpayer, since the game was a financial loss and the Norwegian government didn't ask for my consent to donate my taxpayer kronas to a game studio, I would demand the Norwegian government take responsibility and bear the loss of their decision to fund a game dev. eg Give every low-to-medium income taxpayer a one-off tax credit payment or a one-off tax rate reduction for the current financial year.

I honestly don't know. I think a huge part of it has been the reframing of prostitution as "sex work" which has been a deliberate campaign over the last few decades. And it has occurred alongside the rise of troonery, which is why you will see libfems lumping together "TERFs and SWERFs" as enemies (the latter meaning "sex worker exclusive radical feminist").

If you listen to radfems they'll tell you that it's the result of men rebranding feminism from the inside to give men what they want. Men don't want women to be able to define themselves as a category, so we get trannies. Men also want access to women (and children) for sex, so we get "sex work is work!"

I'm not a radfem myself and I don't agree with that framing, but I don't think they're entirely wrong about a link between the tranny push and the sex work push. There has been a general movement towards spreading identitarianism and other vague concepts that keep the plebs occupied while allowing powerful people to keep exploiting whoever they want and making lots of money.
