Can someone tell me how Phil playing on a NEW WWEC account doesn't risk his family lives? But using his real one does? I don't get the reasoning to this.

His original argument was that if he showed the account username (that was created many years ago), it would expose this "super secret" name and trolls would scour the Internet for it, in order to link to other accounts he either currently has or has forgotten about, and harass & potentially hack or crack them, making it a threat to his family.

I should mention that years ago, he was offered the option to show his roster talent, in order to fact-check without exposing the username, and also, to show the first letters of his username (without revealing it fully so that we know it's not TheyCallMeDSP/DownFromTheRafters), but he refused and ignored.

So, Phil has a brand new computer and access to tons of games he couldn't previously play on consoles, not to mention mods for games that he's previously played multiple times in the past, and a whole host of emulators so he can play retro games and potentially monopolize on the "king" moniker without having to fall back on being the king of hate (he's the self proclaimed king of retro)

But instead of doing any of that...he's going to play a game he's said multiple times is predatory on stream. And start a new account at that. Makes perfect sense to me.

In all seriousness, Phil should have done this ages ago. Unless his audience is shoveling out cash to see a specific game, what he plays really doesn't matter, so he might as well play something he likes for once instead of miserably getting hand held through whatever the newest release.

He always defaults to 'safe' games whenever there's a drought anyway, I've lost track of how many playthroughs he has done of the various Bethesda games.

Imagine Phil playing a gacha game that has actual gameplay or has some level of challenge(e.g Punishing: Gray Raven or Wuthering Waves). I imagine he'll hate it due to it not being p2w combined with mindless tapping and would rather brute force his way to the gacha part of the game.

I think him starting a new WWEC account on stream is actually pretty funny. There are multiple scenarios that could lead to laughs:

1. We get to see first hand him spiral into addiction as the new account becomes his main account, and he won't be able to hide it since it is literally happening on stream
2. He get's addicted to both and is forced to double dip on this account and DownFromTheRafters
3. Same as 2 but he stops streaming it, so now we just track two usernames as he wastes even more money, and he continues to deny he is even spending money.
4. He actually plays it normally without spending, which would piss off detractors and Doody ( I hate doody)

The most likely scenario is he starts it, plays a little, then forgets about it and just move back to DownFromTheRafters, but hey, watching him play a gacha game on stream would probably be better than Fallout for the nth time.

I think you're out of luck there, considering Phil does not use his 2024 PC for anything but gaming (and watching Youtube), and uses his 2013 PC & laptop for the bulk of everyday use. Make it make sense.

I legitimately think that he just doesn't want to give the detractors the win, maybe he feels bad about Derich because everyone hates him (Like Phil's perception of the Internet) so he projects a little bit. Maybe Derich has told Phil in private that he is sad and his streams are the only light in the darkness.

I think Phil doesn't understand Josh's point of "If I delete it, it will pop up somewhere else", he is too much of a pussy to say that he wants it gone from the Internet wherever it pops up.

I really think it is a combination not giving the detractors the W and also feeling like by banning him, DSP is admitting some culpability

I will say this: considering Null runs a site where Phil is mocked daily, sometimes hourly, he showed up for the discussion anyway, something that were I in his position I would never do for a number of reasons. I’m sure having other people there to hold his hand helped (whether their actual intentions were pure or not) and I’m sure if he didn’t have the thought himself someone else let him know exactly how bitchmade he’d appear if he backed out, but he still went through with it. Compared to how much integrity and spine he typically shows, that was a difficult ask. He’s flaked on much less threatening stuff with more on the line to gain in the past.

You're off on this one. Phil knew Null was critical of the posters here and thought he would get more support. He thought it would be the end of his KF forum and that's why he did it.
