I think this absolutely belongs in this thread, considering RFK Jr. literally running his Presidential campaign on health, vaccines, and Big Pharma.

Personally, while I have developed a whole new level of skepticism about vaccines since covid, autism is generally a thing that is being diagnosed more frequently because our "knowledge" of it has grown over the years.

Autism is a relatively "new" medical term, especially when talking about the spectrum, so it's being diagnosed and spotted more frequently now. That makes me not want to jump on the "vaccines cause autism!" bandwagon. I'd like to see more data on this (but, we probably won't).

The only "connection" I see between vaccines and autism is that more vaccines are being developed, and autism is being diagnosed more now that we all know more about it. I haven't seen any data to convince me that one is the cause of the other.
I’d rather believe that vaccines cause autism over than the covid vaccine is safe. Better safe than sorry.

I had to look all three of those up, I'm probably on a list now.

The intensity of EA-3167's effects is unparalleled among known psychoactive substances of any class. Incapacitating effects can last anywhere from 5-10 days, sometimes manifesting as a full 3-day peak of vivid hallucinations, along with prolonged confusion, amnesia, and inhibition of speech and cognition. Some subjects exposed to the drug would not fully recover for almost 20 days.
Administered by injection of as little as 0.2 milligrams for an 80 kg person.

What the actual hell? I'd rather get shot in the dick.

Liberal roommates started talking about politics again and I can't help but think they're basically jerking each other off mentally for believing in the same political ideals. There's no point to discussing politics if you're going to discuss them with someone who believes exactly the same things as you do. And why do people need to care about what you believe unless they ask you specifically? I don't go around saying "I believe that ice cream should be free" when nobody asks. Now that I think about it, you could probably expand this to "don't talk about anything stupid in public."

Trump campaign is fully committed to harvesting dem mail-in balloots this time, unlike in 2020. Couple that with polls deliberately depressing his numbers and pumping up his opponent's again (and that again is for every Republican candidate for the last generation), donks aren't gonna have to cram in an extra 2-3% at 3am, it's gonna have to be well north of 5%. And whatever doomers may tell you, it's a hell of a lot harder to do 5, 6, 7, 8% at 3am than it is 2-3%
Modern election engineering on the left is literally "we just need to get it close enough that our cheating is believable" and it has been since 2016 when that was their Plan B that they discovered too late wasn't possible to do. Actually winning would be nice but is a decidedly secondary concern.

What a fun system when you have to try and hit 53%+ of the vote just to get past the point where the other side can cheat -- and everyone knows this, but you can't do anything about it because laches moot no standing honor system elections.

If you're burning an American flag shouting "DEATH TO AMERICA", while protesting on behalf of a terrorist organization, you don't think some form of punishment should befall some of these dumb fucking kids at college "Pro Palestine" protests?
Well, the Pali people that do it, ok. I'll agree on that to fuck em. All I meant to say is I don't care personally about it that much either way in general.

Forgive my ignorance but if Trump wins then is there a way for him to solve the drug cartel problem in Mexico? Everyone talks about the wall and deportation which I agree but I truly believe if there was a way for him to solve the cartel problem it could potentially make a lot of people (legal and illegal) want to move back to Mexico.

In theory, sure. In reality, no. Mexico would never permit the US military to come into the country to destroy them and the US federal government will never legalize the drugs or other activities that the cartels profit from so even if the current ones were destroyed, eventually new ones would take their place.

2020 with all its insanity was fertile ground for true believers willing to do the hard thing to save democracy.

The fixing is not something that the DNC itself controls or could demand be done for just any old candidate. It's easy enough to get party members to look the other way or to shrug and say that it's not really their problem or that they can't do anything about it when it does occur, but another matter entirely to actually carry the operation out. Joe Biden has been in politics forever and knows enough people who might owe him a favor for some corrupt acts he's done for them in the past or would be willing to do it for him and his promise of owing them.

Kamala is not well liked by much of the party or even the people closely around her and there are going to be more eyes on the process this year. What has Kamala done for anyone else that they would do this for her? In a close race you might only need to cheat a little in one or two places, but she is 5.5 points behind where Biden was at in 2020. She would have to cheat much harder, further increasing the likelihood of getting caught.

Cheating is a game with razor thin margins. In 2020, they could better thumb the scales since a lot of people voted by mail, making the drops easier, along with high anti-trump sentiment creating the air of believability. Now, things are shit, and the Dems are offering up a drunk that's too scared to do interviews by herself while Trump at least has said he plans to harvest and is encouraging Rep poll watchers to hold the line.
That and the pandemic fueled anti-trump sentiments

Sorry to have to redpill you on this, but setting vaccines aside there are pretty solid links between metabolic health issues like gestational diabetes during pregnancy and autism in offspring. I've linked two studies here including a meta analysis (pools results of multiple studies) which shows the link.

Given metabolic health is rapidly declining in the US and has been since the 80s with some estimates that 80-90% of Americans are not metabolically healthy as of 2020 this would help explain the increase in autism rates in recent years.

When something as disruptive as autism is being noted as 1 in 36, or 1 in 22 that is not likely to be genetic and not likely to be due to better recognition. It is a disorder and it is likely increasing due to - at least in part - an unhealthy environment in the womb. It's not normal. As far as I know the screening tools for autism have not largely changed in recent years but rates are still increasing - but I might be wrong on that. Regardless, the link to a metabolic health issue during pregnancy isn't something that should be downplayed or ignored.

Unfortunately, similar issues are likely contributing to increased rates of mental health issues in children and teens, not simply overdiagnosis. Mental health issues like major depression and bipolar are also being linked to poor metabolic health impacting the brain.

So no, it's probably not better recognition. It's mothers partially getting increasingly unhealthy and that not being a good environment for a growing baby, including their brain. This doesn't even touch on the possible contribution of maternal nutrient deficiencies impacting the developing fetus. A lot of women in the US are nutrient deficient and a lot of babies are too.

You may be asking: Does this belong in a US Politics thread?

Nothing to see here ….just big pharma imposing law by lobbying politicians to inject kids with poisons….not unlike the food industry and the continuation of the toxic pesticide glyphosate (banned in many countries in Europe and throughout the world).

The pharmaceutical industry is far and away the biggest spenders when it comes to lobbying politicians at the local, state, and national levels.

There are currently 1,834 registered lobbyists working for the pharmaceutical and health industry, meaning it has more than three lobbyists for each member of Congress.
This is exactly why Trump needs rfk. He was talking about this in the Joe Rogan interview and the vax company's basically offload product onto children when the target market fails to materialize (hookers and fags)
I think a lot of autists are created by giving kids chromebooks and now tablets during their youth. No children had instant access to a massive amount of self-contained entertainment that they wouldn't need to socialize over. That would ruin anyone's attention span.
RFK had an excellent point about autism. If this was always a thing and we are just now noticing it, then where the hell are the autistic people that are his age and older? He believes the timing is with the vax ( I forgot the year but sometime between the 80s and 90s) and I think he said it had something to do with the increased amounts of mercury they put in it to trick the body to conflate the pathogens with the toxic mercury.

Problem is the mercury doesn't go away. Oh it disappears from blood tests but a dude did the tests on monkeys. Killed them and discovered all the mercury went directly to the freaking brain.

The company's never admit fault and can't be held liable for fault. The books are cooked and independent study's are deliberately demonized.

Fuck he was talking about bill Gates and his personal vaccines he's got going in Africa and it's killing little girls by the bus load. One of them was generally killing people so bad they had to recall it. It's a fucking nightmare.

Again this shit is long but it's a hell of a pill to swallow.

Also, a lot of “autists” are just spoiled or sheltered kids who never had to develop social skills.
while that might be true. i've heard and seen enough old school "autists" who basically just got a bad roll. And no matter how much "practice" they got still ended up being weird outcasts.
Mexico would never permit the US military to come into the country to destroy them
I honestly don't think the military even could if they tried, the layout of the land is perfect for "bandit" type organizations. the Mayans and Aztecs were complaining about it thousands of years ago and it was where the Apache and commanche were hanging out. its like a mini-afghanistan, even trying to deal with the problem will just fuck you over.
gestational diabetes
don't know the term but i'm assuming you mean like too much sugar during pregnancy? wouldn't that mean that autism should be so much more common within minority populations? also if true how would vegan or vegetarian pregnancies ever get autism. As for you talking about nutrition, wouldn't that also force you to concede that whites should be catching depression/bipolar/autism in rates that are a massive fraction compared to section 8 populations?

And beyond that because diets don't really change that much in populations shouldn't you be able to prove bmi and autism is linked too? Which would then concede that skinnier women wouldn't have autistic kids.

I feel pissed all the time. I get for most old people it’s not their fault, but it truly feels like us in the younger generations are getting fucked over constantly. So many people finished out highschool locked inside their homes, the economy is so horrible that getting our start in this world is damn near impossible, and to top it all off we’ll never see the benefits of all the bullshit we pay into. I don’t mean to sound like a victim, but there seems to be no future for us.

It might seem bad, but consider the benefits: no mean tweets.

Again this shit is long but it's a hell of a pill to swallow.
Is it? people have been saying it for 20 years and we literally A. know how bad mercury is for the body and B. knowing its even in vaccines should be cause for alarm. now if it was something like organic foods then it would be a hard pill to swallow, because no one would expect it

IIRC we removed a lot of the mercury based vaccines decades ago at this point, but with the way things are, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone kept the backstock of vaccines and still used them instead of disposing of them properly. Probably due to pure error instead of malice, but I can still picture the situation.

It's just striking how evil the pharma companies are. Resident evil isn't supposed to be realistic.

Also Im pretty sure he's talked about foods but I think most of the interview is about the vax, COVID, aids and various other things. ( I'm two hours in) Had a cool theory that the Spanish flu was actually caused by an early American vaccine. It tracks with the widely accepted belief that Spanish flu wasn't foreign at all and actually came from America.

  1. Militarize the border.
  2. Make a deal with Mexico's government to let him drone strike cartel targets.
  3. Take out enough resources that the cartel power shrinks, without US personnel getting involved on the ground.

I'd say he could cripple, if not eliminate, the cartels by the end of his term. It should be straightforward, however it would require a lot of political capital both here (military on the border) and with Mexico.
Oh boy I can imagine democrats and the media defend the cartels unironically whenever stories of them get drone striked comes up
