Low six figures is basically a median 2 earner household income. A single person low six figure incomes is solidly middle class, but it hasn't been outside of middle class definitions since the late 2000s. I've discussed net worth in a thread about it before, but basically these days if you're married and middle aged and don't have a half million dollar net worth you're probably not going to be able to afford to retire until your late 60s. Middle age can safely be considered 35-40.

True. But IMO this problem goes way back to the majority of women permanently entering the workforce. Women bought the idea of being able to not be homemakers and instead work as empowerment hook line and sinker, it devalued work immensely and now most women who would want to be homemakers with children could never afford to do so and maintain a middle class life. Add to that basically unfettered immigration and wholesale offshoring of manufacturing and it's no surprise at all that the median two earner household can barely afford the median family home.

I don't think it's a rugpull, it's more of a ladder pull, as in pulling the ladder up after you. My grandfather (not a boomer, fought in WW2) on one man's a little above median income could afford a decently sized relatively new family home with a basement and a nice yard and two new cars. My grandmother stayed home and raised the kids, and they sent the kids to college on that. They weren't sacrificing either, they had good lives and he had plenty to retire on. I earn, proportionally, a little more and there's no way we my wife and I could afford to replicate that lifestyle if my wife didn't similarly make above median income. Granted I have several cars and motorcycles instead of a new car but the most valuable car is only worth about as much as a new optioned out V6 Camry and I've been accumulating these cars for 15 years... They aren't extravagant. We basically have the same lifestyle on twice the income.

I enjoy and used to watch his debunking videos. They were fun but I can't watch them anymore. Any time I watch them I have the thoughts in the back of my mind that any second now he will switch topic and start talking about how much he hates Hyperloop and that kind of kills my enjoyment of his videos.

I am sick and tired of inflation, I am sick and tired of illegal migrants fucking up my community, I am sick and tired of coastal elites trying to tell me what to do, and I am going to vote for the most conservative politicians until these people learn how to unfuck themselves.
