Steven Carver / Saberspark / Saberspark 64 / Sabersteve - Soylent infused breadtuber "Toonophile" who reviews children's cartoons for a living.

I'd love to see this guy attempt to give a scathing review of the Bibleman cartoon, since it's actually pretty good. He'd probably hyperfixate on the cheap animation (which really doesn't matter; animation speaks to how much budget a show had rather than whether or not it's good) and the Bible story segment in each episode, completely ignoring all the cool stuff in it like the power armours, the cool vehicles, and the advanced technology. In one episode they even have the kids wear evil brainwashing bracelets, which is a reference to the mark of the beast being on the wrist.

Who would have guessed that it's a dumb idea to pander to adults who want "character drama" and "meaningful representation" rather than kids who want stuff that's cool and funny? Hyperfixating on romance and "character development" and how many black and gay characters are in a show is boring to everyone except terminally-online adults. I have no idea how any executive greenlit all that sludge.

I find it weird how much he brings this character up and presumably pays a real woman to voice her for his videos. One time is whatever--multiple times and a plush campaign is fucking weird.

When he’s not political sperging and pandering to breadtube his more research based videos can be alright. For example, his deep dive on the Klasky Csupo company.

However, most of his videos are insufferable. Like the Drawn Together video where he spends a good chunk of time moralfagging about how a lot of the “edgy” humor of the show isn’t acceptable now and even though he admits he found a lot of the show funny, he walks it back saying most of it was lazy comedy like the racial jokes. Can’t piss off the breadtubers where race is not a thing you can joke about ever!!!!

His content reminds me a lot of LS Mark but somehow worse. While LS Mark is turbo autistic about his cartoons, Saberspark is creepy and I wouldn’t be surprised if worse shit comes out about him judging by the Bluey/furry stuff.

It's so goddamn creepy how quickly he pivoted from obsessing over a children's show to obsessing over hentai (complete with gooner thumbnails that kids are unavoidably gonna encounter) right back to obsessing over a children's show again.

I hope someday that every cartoon reviewer on YouTube comes to their senses, deletes their channel, and gets a job mopping the floors in some hospital. At least they'd be a benefit to society that way.

For a guy that has made videos criticizing content farms he sure does love using the same kind of cartoon fetish clickbait in his videos.

That and his 'What Ruined Veggietales?' video are surprisingly good.

I think I stopped watching Saber around the time he pivoted heavily into the "THIS WAS FOR KIDS?! NOT FOR KIDS CURSED ANIMATED MOVIE" stuff. It doesn't make any of the blatant fetish stuff less weird or disgusting, but there's only so much you can say about shows like Totally Spies or some low budget adult animated film before you go-

If Drawn Together came out today as it is. It would be decried as anti-woke conservative propaganda by the cartoon review community. They hate drawn together because it's a liberal learning comedy show that accurately predicted corporate woke culture, the fat acceptance movement and trendy transgenderism. Drawn Together 100% predicted Disney censoring cartoons for Disney plus.

Yeah. This is why truly satirical shows (where satire IS the selling point and the premise), especially animated ones, have been dying for a while now. For instance, Max rebooted Clone High only for the new writers to turn it into the type of show the original writers were satirizing. It was preachy, self-serious, and safe instead of cynical, wacky and risk-taking like the original. This is what happens when any type of satire that is outside the safe talking points such as “haha white people” or “male privilege, incels bad” is deemed too offensive, racist or in poor taste. What the fuck is the point of a satirical show then? It’s another reason why Saberspark is retarded because he defends this a lot especially in the Drawn Together video.
