MOSCOW, August 28. /TASS/. The Lefortovsky Court ruling satisfied the request of preliminary investigation bodies for arrest of Ante Alexander and Medin Arand Jose Aron, suspected of mercenarism until October 22

Moscow’s Lefortovsky Court arrested two mercenaries from Colombia for participation in hostilities against Russia within Ukrainian forces, the court press office told TASS.

"The Lefortovsky Court ruling satisfied the request of preliminary investigation bodies for arrest of Ante Alexander and Medin Arand Jose Aron, suspected of [mercenarism] until October 22," the press office said.

Previously, Colombian newspaper El Tiempo reported that two Colombian citizens were detained in the airport of Caracas, where they arrived from Ukraine through Poland and Spain. The incident took place in the beginning of this year. The Venezuelan law enforcement officers took note of the passengers’ Ukrainian uniform and military backpacks. The detainees’ fate then remained unknown for a long time.

A couple of months ago an Aussie mercenary by the name of Brock Greenwood was killed in Ukraine. Yesterday "Aussie Cossack", a guy holed up in the Russian embassy in Australia published footage of his body being recovered from the trenches, and Greenwood's mother hit the roof and caused a bit of a stir in the press. Now I'm no fan of gore videos, so beware if you don't want to watch it, but what struck me was just how shitty the trench he died in was. It was more like a rainwater gutter than a place that offered any sort of protection. How the hell is anyone meant to survive any sort of bombardment in that.

Russia is fighting on her territory (let's be brutally honest, the Ukraine was always part of Russia until the early 20th century when Imperial Russia was weak and later on the Soviets took it and made it what it was when it became independent in 1990) and on her land in the case of Kursk/Belgorod. Russia has fought wars in Russia several times. The US, not yet 250 years old, hasn't fought wars in the continental US or any part of North America since the Civil War (the Caribbean is a minor exception as was the brief Japanese incursion into parts of Alaska where they were met by the bemused Russian Old Believers community). We don't win hearts and minds because the Pentagon doesn't feel we need to, and we don't fight wars of attrition, we make sure we have total air superiority. We also don't fight wars of necessity, we make war so crooks Congress and military contractors can profit. That's the primary reason for the difference in doctrines.

Imagine spending decades of your life lovingly raising a son, and he goes off and gets himself killed and wipes out your family line in the fight for jewish investment firms trying to create a feudal slave state and pour in a bunch of african savages to rape all the white women after all the men are too busy being dead to protect them. But then instead of resenting the monsters who lied to your son and sent him to his death and ended your bloodline, you double down on your support for those monsters. Honestly it's hard to feel bad for her. This almost could have been as heart wrenching as that video of the Russian soldier looting the corpse of a Ukrainian conscript and finding a child's drawing. I have a drainage ditch in front of the place where I work that provides substantially more coverage. If I had to guess, that trench was hand dug under fire.

I dont even talk governments. Just typical sources. Unsubstantiated claims are taken as gospel. Whenever anything happens, gossip takes forefront and is somehow accepted as authority.

Re F-16: When a plane crashes, a military plane with an ejection seat, and the pilot has had at least basic training, he will bail out. Leaving the plane is one of the first things you learn as a military pilot. Machine can be replaced, a skilled pilot not.
He was shot down. Either by russians or by ukrainians. I lend more to the latter option. When was the last time the ukrainian AA operator saw a friendly plane in the sky?

According to the Ukrainian official “sources,” to wit, Maryanna Bezuglaya, the first F-16 destroyed in Ukraine was “shot down by a Patriot missile due to failure of coordination among the Ukrainian forces.”

According to the Russian “military analysts” of Telegram Zrada-fame it was destroyed in-situ (on the ground) as a result of a Russian missile strike.

According to “military analysts” of the Western shit-kind, it nosedived during a sortie to shoot down Russian missiles; the pilot is dead on impact.

According to regular strategists, the first F-16 eliminated in the Ukraine was an inevitability, much like the Abrams “wunderwaffe’s” demise.


The Russian claim is the one I saw a day or two ago so Im kinda leaning that way.
