Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

Merlwyb was the only who's ARR VA I missed. I don't remember why they couldn't keep her, if it was for the same reason as the other VA's or not. But yeah her replacement VA just isn't the same.
The change was so jarring to me when I started playing. Her voice actor is Jean Gilpin. She's the only one whom I know by name - her voice is so distinctive that I recognize it everytime I hear it and have to look up where I recognize her from. She also voiced Meredith in Dragon Age 2 and Meridia in Skyrim. The lady must smoke several packs a day.

Next expansion is going to have a time travel plot where Wuk Lamat uses the power of friendship to avoid the 7th Calamity by power of frienshiping Bahamut using SPEEN
Next expansion is about how the timeline split for the 8th umbral calamity becomes unstable, the timelines merge and Wuk Lamat becomes the warrior of light.

'Torn From The Heavens' is then perpetually replaced with 'Smile'.

All other songs are replaced with Machinations
To be fair, considering the context behind that song playing (exposition of shit you were told literally two minutes ago), it could replace nearly all of the Dawntrail OST while remaining true to use.

All of the OST except Smile.

After 7.4 we'll officially leave Wuk Lamat behind for good. In 7.5 a mysterious man from the far east will arrive on boat in Tural. We meet him, and he's a black samurai from Hingashi, and introduces himself as Yasuke. Yasuke will tell us he came here because he wants our help to become the next Shogun. We'll get 3 dialogue choices here: Yes, yes but sassy, and no. And if you pick no you get told you actually really want to anyway because "muh adventurer spirit". Roll credits.

Pls look forward to it

Wuk Lamat will leave because she removes her mask to reveal herself to be Wuk Lamat's previously unknown younger sister who pretended to be her for reasons. Then we go to liberate Nota Mhigo.

So I feel pretty fucking stupid.

Because I avoided Limsa like the plague as soon as was practicable, I never realized I was supposed to unlock the challenge log early. Just assumed it was something I hadn't reached yet when I saw it greyed out in my logs menu. Wish they'd have added a way to unlock it in the other cities too like they did with retainer shit.

Which means I missed out on all the Adventurer Squadron stuff this whole time.

Anyone know what the over/under on how long it'll likely take me to get my squad of retards up to 40 so I can move up a rank will be, since the deployments are timed at 18 hours?

Ok but that's basically Gosetsu and if they do him dirty I will drop the third nuke squarely on SE HQ.

At that point they'd be better off just going with the direction they are obviously hinting at and making us visit all the shards, save all of them because 'fuck you I'm the warrior of light' and end up fighting a multidimensional threat (with the aid of each of the shard's Wuk Lamats, this is important) that wishes to wipe the source and reflections both just to then remake them in their own image, a twisted parody of existence.

That final boss? Daichi Hiroi himself.

Her yelling "Seven hells" is seared into my mind

Do you have Command Missions unlocked?
Yes: Around 2 days if you're willing to dump some seals on levelling them that way. (You're going to have to do this eventually anyway, since you need to do 5 unique missions to unlock the third mission.)
They give 4.5k EXP for Halatali, 5.4k for Totorak, 7.2k for Brayflox, 9k for Vigil, 9.9k for Darkhold, and 10.8k for Aurum. The level 50 ones give 11,250 but levelling them beyond 50 through dungeons isn't worth it unless you want to level jobs this way.
No: Around a week if you remember to use all 3 of the training courses you have access to.

Thanks for the info! That's actually not as bad as I expected.

I believe the Challenge Log is separate from the Squadron, though it's been a while. I think its only use is tied to new recruits.

Squadrons are done through your Grand Company and require you to hit a certain rank. Build up GC seals and turn them in for promotions and do your Hunt Log for your Grand Company, as it requires you to complete that.

If you haven't unlocked Halatali, Sunken Temple of Qarn and (I think) Cutter's Cry, do so in Vesper Bay where the Scion HQ is. There's an NPC just outside with the quests. You'll need those for the Grand Company Hunt Logs.

Generally, do any quests that are the blue (+) ones as soon as they're available.

For leveling your squad, you have a few options.

Training exercises: these can raise stats or give XP and take about an hour to complete. These are refreshed daily IIRC. If you're playing for a chunk, do these. You can access them on the little board in your barracks room.

Field duties: these act like retainer ventures and last 12-18 hours IIRC.

Squadrons: These are tied to their actual level and are basically just you running instances with them. You can do these as long as you want, but they're tied to your squad's level, so you'd be starting off doing the beginner dungeons.

If you no life it, it doesn't take very long.

You're stuck with the first 4 if you don't have the Challenge Log, which means that Baguette hasn't been getting any experience for the other 4 from the training sessions you get.

Cutter's Cry
Unlocked in Uldah (Thal), actually. And it isn't an option for the Squadron.

That's actually not as bad as I expected.
It gets faster the longer you do Command Missions with each member, by the way.
Set them to Offensive as soon as you unlock the tactic for even more damage. If you aren't tanking you can set the Gladiator/Marauder to Balanced if you don't like casting Cure II.
Fair warning: The NPCs are actually retarded and you're going to want to use Disengage and Engage for the first and last bosses of Halatali.

So I got drunk and renewed my sub after 6-7 month hiatus, and im stuck playing this for a month i guess. Now I know im asking ye old question of "are there any decent, non troon infested FCs" (Sargatanas in my case). Yes, there arent kiwi fcs for obvious reasons but i guess i wanna chill in one where i dont have to walk on eggshells, and i dont wanna go solo again as ive practically played the whole damn game that way.
I am in one FC at the moment, but just looking at the discord they are 60% fat bpd rainbow haired whores, anime coomers with big My name is not important vibes (they are all male au ras, obviously), some rping degenerates and the rest are your typical raiders. They also love Wuk Latroon which is the sign to jump ship like the first white bitch off the titanic.
At this point i think id win the cactopod 5 times in a row or clear UWU blind first try without carry before i can find an FC with more normal autists.

I believe the Challenge Log is separate from the Squadron,
You're unable to unlock the squadron without first having the challenge log unfortunately, at least in the current build you can't unlock squads period without it. When I couldn't get access to a squad like guides had said I should've, after some googling, I discovered I needed to have gotten the log around level 17 in Limsa first. Which I've mostly tried to avoid; The players who hang out there are obnoxious and I'd sooner hang out in mostly empty Ul'dah like I've been doing.

Thanks so much for the information! That's extremely helpful!

Oh god you just reminded me that in 5 or 6 years we're going to have "Dawntrail Ultimate" where they'll probably make Wank Lamat a huge part.

Imagine having to prog for hours upon hours during a phase where Wuk Lamat is going "SPEEN, LEESTEN TO ME. SPEEEEEN". Assuming the game lasts that long and they don't just skip it like they may have done with Stormblood.

Oh god and imagine if they make Smile the final phase theme...
