@Jaracainofthewind I get what you're saying, but you're using the assumption that Phil is a) of average intelligence and b) is neurotypical. Neither of these things are the case, he's demonstrably low IQ and is absolutely autistic (anyone doubting this after seeing in person how obsessed he is with WWEC is retarded, imagine sinking 7 YEARS and tens of thousands into that shit), both of which impact his ability to convey information to an audience in an educational fashion.

Autistic people develop these insane fixations and will inhale knowledge on their subject of choice, but most cannot actually teach others about it because they don't understand how normal people think or learn because they've got no/poor Theory of Mind. They just rattle off facts without considering the way you have to create a foundation level understanding for an individual to get what the fuck they're saying. But Phil is too busy bumrushing the mythical Level 7 so he can do whatever FOMO nonsense event, rather than thinking about how a new account is a great way to teach the fundamentals, and taking time to explain it to people.

Even when he is knowledgeable he's just so fucking DSP about it.

Watching him spend over 200 dollars on a single stream for packs blew my mind. It clicked how much money they make compared to real games. Like that money for 'a terrible pull' and 'bad characters' was more than Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree dlc. Thinking of all the artistic vision, ideas, imagery, story and the fun you get from the Elden Ring compared to the shit early console models of wrestelers DSP had to spend more money to get. It's fucking crazy gacha mobile games are zoomer version of pokies
And remember the fit he threw because of the price of the DLC?

I know some people are calling this arc boring already but I think that's too jaded. Watching dsp go down the rabbit hole of live gamba and his audience encouraging it is fucking hilarious. He's entering into a deeper level of gamba and people are complaining? Wtf. You don't see the potential here?

ALSO, it's absolutely hilarious that these WWE streams will inevitably get some of his dents addicted to this pointless ass degen game. This arc has the potential to be amazing and some of you guys don't even realize it.

smark is like a wrestling fan term, to the point John and Phil's podcast about wrestling was called Smark Guys, pretty sure it's a thing. he also meant to say "Hogan would pre cut his shirts" but he hit b instead.

really wasn't that much of a disaster of a post, honestly.
"Smart" wrestling fans being those that (think) they understand what is going on behind the scenes.
"Marks" being the old carny term for the average wrestling fan.
"Smart marks" or "smarks" being a backhanded compliment mix of the two (you think you're smart but still a mark)

I think this arc has been wild. Phil totally changed his on-screen personality and all of his content, going against everything he always said he hated, all because of money and because he made two "friends". But while I'm not seething about it, 90% of the arc has been Phil gloating about how he's beloved now and getting showered in tips. True, he's doing crazy shit we never thought we'd see him do, like interact with other humans and buy foam for the wall, but waiting months for it all to collapse on him could get old quickly.

Reminder: WPIG1651 will be doing a deep dive on Phil's lies wbout playing wwe champions over the years at 10:30 am est today

Update: it's live and ALT said this will be a 2 part episode since there's so many lies from Phil that he never played wwe champions, until he spent 7 years playing it.

Jayde: I play WW Championship week yesterday!

Like, I am a sweaty try hard gamer right. So being able to list whats good and bad is like my day 1 of learning a game. Like if it is something I want to be sweaty at, I am going to immediately look at what people are using. What they used to use. Absorb a few articles on the state of the meta and then go from there.
WWE Champions isn't a game, at least not like ones you're playing. A good character is based on how regularly it wins matches in doing the same 3 moves every match. It's seriously just tapping your phone thrice and you win, over and over again. You pay exorbitant amounts of money to continue winning like this in Scopely's power creep. Phil even showed currency in the game which is specifically for skipping easy matches. You pay to win efficiently, to not do anything.

Phil saying endlessly that "This level is when you get the good stuff!" That's the game.

I fucking love this interview. I've watched it 4 times from start to finish. The absolute peak DSP.
I gotta love Adam's progression.

In case you don't know, he is a skater hippy who became friends with Tim Pool, so Tim had him join his show to be "the liberal voice", and instead Adam just got red pilled on air on pretty much everything as the show went on.

Then he was in this interview, started not knowing anything about Phil and just trying to talk to him like you would a human being, then just pig pilled and by the end is angry and insulted by Phil for how much he lies constantly and is hypocritical about everything, even things he said a few minutes ago, and how everything they ask turns into a pre stream response.

It's like he went through the whole Tim Pool arc again with DSP in just 4 hours.

It's the best.

What Phil didn't do, and it was pissing me off, is tell me why something is good or why it is shitty hue hue hue. And like if you really know your shit you can do that. I can do that for Yugioh and I only really played that for a year. The only things I have the kind of experience he does is Warhammer and Magic. And even then I never played them seven years straight. And I could, and do bore people to death on telling you if a card or model is bad just on reading. Like Yugioh I can only really tell you why a deck is good or bad if I played it or against it. And some vagaries about other decks. But Magic? You can toss me any card and I'm like oh yeah this only works if you are trying to do this and even then I have three better cards for you.
I think @Two Yum Yums said it best already, he has consumed more knowledge of WWEC than anything else, and he knows some back story too. Definitely is awful at explaining anything, but I would say he knows this more than SF6, where he just copies some combos and watches a few videos, and if something doesn't work, it's not his fault he was told X beats Y, but missed why X beats Y, and also why Z sometimes beats both.

It's only boring in a sense of like, "Told ya so nigga".
We already had a good grasp of how things were operated. Fat Kat was another one of those things like we knew, just needed confirmation and its like welp, yeah, she's fat as fuck.

His spaghetti Factorio wire management was another. He said he got it all cleaned up and stuff. Cleans it once a week.
Nope. Same dusty mismanaged mess.

Don't even need confirmation on the rest of what his place looks like at this point.
But it does bring up the next thing that needs to happen. KC gets us back to house tours again.

House tours would be redundant now. It probably looks the same as it did a decade ago. A hoard of expensive consoomer crap, dirty like duh office is and always was, and he would bother to clean the true disasters like a garage half-filled with Doordash styrofoam.
