Mega Rad Gun Thread

If you are making a 7.62x39 rifle, it is lunacy not to use the AK magwell. Just like with the STANAG magwell, are they the perfect solutions from a technical standpoint? No. Are they absolutely ubiquitous around the world? YES! So use it!

I love bolt hold opens and understand the logic - I just wish they offered a conversion kit at minimum like the ARX-160 which is sadly discontinued for the US market.

Economy of scale is better than whatever improvement there may technically be. Obviously with the BREN, I guess it's more about trying to maintain the receiver construction the same for economic production.
I'm fairly certain there are third-party lowers you can get that can use AK mags.

It's FINISHED. My AR that I specced out and built (with assistance) from the trigger guard to the muzzle device is DONE.

BCM upper, Expo x MEGA lower, criterion core barrel, Sionics NP-3 BCG, Hiperfire EDT trigger, B5 stock and MILSPEC/close to it everything else.

Sights are Magpul MBUS Gen 3s

Will eventually pop on a Delta Stryker 1-6x LPVO

I think Energetic Armament is making a number of wipe cans, one of their .30s being a sick .300 BLK can.

Totally can't get silicone and a punch that's often listed in the description of a can. Rex Silentium definitely wouldn't do that.... For range use it'd take nearly as long to punch a disk as it would to take it out of a bag if you want to be all legal. In a real situation if you haven't been spotted after 10+ shots you're doing pretty well, and whatever laws probably aren't important, not like you'd be "hot swapping" wipes anyways.

Yep. I have their Vox S, which is their .30 cal riffle suppressor. It comes with a wipe for use with subsonic ammo. When the wipe is used up you can use it as a template to cut out a new wipe to replace it. You have to destroy the original wipe before cutting out the new one. So you can make your own legally, they just have to be one for one. You can't cut out a bunch of them to have as backups or else the ATF considers that manufacturing suppressor parts. So shoot up the original, take it out and use it to trace out a new one on a piece of silicone, cut the original up into bitty pieces, then cut out the new wipe.

I believe some of their other cans have the options for wipes as well. Possibly their 9mm can.

I did 2 gun the other week for my friends vet charity. Man we had a great time. First of all, I brought a lot of 556 ammo. Me, nah nigga I dressed up in a full ww1 Russian kit. Got some laughs.

I had my yearly review, I got a nice raise and a little bonus. Guys you're gonna hate me. I'm getting a gun that makes no sense but I just want. 6mm Lee. I am ready to spent 5k today for one, I have seen for less. I don't care about brand/ rarity etc. I just want one, because I like them.

Enough of my faggot blog. So what's a weird ass gun ya'll want don't "need" not for value not for investment not to use just a gun you want because you WANT it and that's your reasoning.

One of those straight-pull bolt rifles made by Winchester the Navy used for a short while? Those are really nifty rifles. Those and those Ross rifles the Canucks used before they issued the Enfield.

The Pedersoli Howdah, which is a modern Italian reproduction of the Ithaca Auto & Burglar, a factory SBS sold during the Great Depression that stopped production after the NFA was passed.

Back in the day when you could just have a print ad with pictures of people who got shot in the face with your guns.

The reproductions are chambered in 45 Colt/.410 to skirt around the NFA. Does this mean that it's functionally just a Taurus Judge that costs 3 times as much that only holds 2 rounds? Yeah. Would it be cheaper to just buy a cheap SxS shotgun and register it as an SBS? Probably. But damn if I still don't want one.

The S&W M&P 12, their bullpup shotgun. It felt solid, very compact, and has a relatively good form factor but a Mossberg can do the job better for as little as 1/5th the price.

And as an aside, I really do like the KSG(KS7?) with the carry handle. But it's Kel-Tec and I value my face and hands.
