I'm still not certain that it's not a translucent BDSM mask that he's wearing, with the seams covered up well enough with white face paint.
Maybe a half-face one so it's not wrapped entirely around his head.

Maybe someone should check the local art scene? He knows what he’s doing when it comes to the art part so probably not the first time he’s “displayed” his work.

I think he looks biracial. His features don't look like the average white brit. He looks like he has some black ancestry. If his last name really is Alter then that would mean his dad is the white one or more likely that's his mother's last name because he was abandoned by his father. Most blacks in England are of African or Caribbean decent and that last name is German.

Makes sense, however I’m still not entirely convinced David Alter is his birth name. It sounds too much like a “creative” name he adopted way back when.

In the early 00s, like 2001, 2002, people had mobiles in the UK, they did have digital cameras too. Remember that guy that was running around in the gimp suit for a few years? No one got a picture of him either but they finally caught him. It's a weird fucking place man, I wouldn't be surprised.
