View attachment 6373540Wait a moment. Why the fuck would a senior editor at Kotaku need to buy the biggest, latest, most astroturfed AAA slop of the season? Even in the (unlikely) event that Ubisoft didn't give them review copies, one would expect Kotaku to foot the bill for the subject matter their employees are supposed to write about.
Besides, this is a short game with little replayability and it is a (supposedly) big launch; she should be intimately familiar with it, if not by playing it, by professional osmosis. How fucking disconnected from the hobby can a "professional" afford to be? What the fuck does she even do at Kotaku?

I guess she's just being cheeky or lying by omission to own the Star wars Chuds or the big meanie Gamers® but it just illustrates how disconnected from videogames and their industry this Senior Editor from one of the biggest remaining videogame sites really is.
I'm pretty sure Kotaku isn't footing the bill for much of anything anymore outside of their basic article rates.

Remember a few months back G/O media, the owners wanted to switch everyone to just writing game guides. Because good we'll written guides and walk through earn money for years and years. Whereas Alyssa's shit has a lifecycle of at best an afternoon.

Nintendo Power magazines can still sell well and Prima guides can sell for a hundred dollars or more. People still like their print and pdfs so it would be wise to go that route but if Kotaku's owners were wise they wouldn't have bought them in the first place and if they did, they should have gone scorched earth on their employees.

If I ran Kotaku, i would have fired everyone, then rehired some frat bros and tell them to make a cross between Playboy Magazine and Video Gaming. Have guides, reviews and naked anime titties. Then have a section for a serialized M rated comic that you used to find in old heavy metal magazines. Put the regular stuff online, but if you want the anime titties you gotta by the print subscription. I bet it would have sold really good.

you could do something like the Sun in Canada and have a "sunshine girl" that's an anime character every day to bring in more clicks and hold readers.

Most video game mags and Playboy itself have gone bankrupt, because guides and titties can now be found for free online

Slight nitpick, but was it too much to fucking ask to mirror the picture so that you can actually read what the fucking shirt says?

I mean, reading backwards isn't too hard, but still, I hate when people do that.
yeah, at first glance it looks like she's advertising the Tyne and Wear Metro for some reason
Can someone explain to me the psychology of a Simp? What compels a man to thirst post at a woman he will never fuck. It's barely understandable when it happens to physically attractive instagram whores. It's utterly incomprehensible when it's this goblin.
they are either utterly devoid of any dignity or self-respect (if sincere), or skeevy predator types you don't want to leave your drink unattended around (if playing it up)
the former seems to be an increasing problem these days

There can still be a niche market for things. They failed because they went with low quality- high volume. The winning formula in the current market is High Quality, Low Volume. People will be interested in subscribing to something with high production value that won't disintegrate after 3 weeks sitting on the coffee table. Target market would be older Millenials and Gen X with money to burn who won't notice or care about a recurring 14.99 charge every month.

I think that was what Sankaku Complex once was?

Here is some new info:
Alyssa has a sister named Alana (she is much better looking and better put up, than her) (A)

What I gathered she is a Transfer Admissions Advisor at New York Institute of Technology:
Alana Mercante
I didn't went more in depth into her background as she is not the person of interest and I just posted this because it's interesting info.

I want to clarify my post with "Die or ride" ring post, it's related to her love for motorbikes (and riding them).
My assumption was that she doesn't have any licences for any vehicle as there are no info available about that.

Now we know she has a motorbike and also "rides" them, she drove to a place called "Beacon" (A) where she drank a beer (A)(most possibly alcoholic one) and posted it on x.com.
I'm not familiar with the laws about "driving under the influence" in the US and especially New York, but I found this:
Complete Guide to DWI on Motorcycle:
"If a rider is found to have a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) above the legal limit in New York, they may be charged with DWI. A motorcycle rider with a BAC of .08% or above is considered legally intoxicated. If a motorcycle rider is stopped by a police officer on suspicion of DWI, they will usually be give either a breath test, a blood test, or a urine test to determine their BAC. Motorcycle riders convicted of DWI in New York face a minimum 1 year revocation of their motorcycle operator’s license."

What I found that basically one beer is allowed according to this measures, but knowing Alyssa's love for alcoholic beverages (even strong ones) might suggest she might drank a little bit more or even before the "ride", allegedly.

Here's some more details about the mid life crisis motorcycle. She says she got her motorcycle license in July 2023, but she had a panic attack during the road test.

According to this xeet from August 2023 her bike is a 2021 Royal Enfield INT 650.

As of October 2023 her longest ride was from Brooklyn to Long Island to see her parents.

I'm going to guess that today's daytrip is her new record for longest ride, otherwise there would be tweets about her riding historical roadways or to national parks or yknow, things that motorcyclists do. She doesn't tweet about the motorcycle constantly so I'm gonna guess that she doesn't take it out very often.

I don't know shit about motorcycles, hopefully we have some motofags here. Does this choice of motorcycle reveal anything? Is it common to have a panic attack while taking a road test? Also, how much would it cost to park and maintain a motorcycle in NYC? Is this a money pit like a boat?

Edit: Also, oh my god I HOPE she's writing a novel. I can't wait. :story:

Royal Enfield with a top case. Not surprised. It's the "I'm different" of bikes, has the vague mark of "I'm a _real_ motorcycle fan" about the brand. Seen as a "I dropped out of society and rode across the world" bike, but new it's just a souless lifestyle brand to me. Not sure how the rest of the bike world sees them.

Decades ago, at a house party I rode a motorcycle too, some chick trying to cozy up told me she restored and daily drove royal Enfield. Total try hard. Reminded of that little anecdote seeing these pictures.

they're good bikes, and they look the part, but you pay way over the odds for what you actually get, especially if they're (relatively) new and/or you have to have them imported

Gonna disagree on that i owned a Enfield for years and it was the nicest looking piece of shit i ever had. Although the riding part when it didn't break down was great though. They are still Indian made and owned so even the international standard is poor compared to anything Japanese made or hell even Korean bikes are better the few that are still around.

Only reason you'd buy an Enfield is for style and they look great, the interceptor is a really light bike. Enfields in general are very light weight the only comparison to a Jap bike would be TUX 250 designed for little men and small women. Or if you could get your hands on one the new GB 350 which i'd buy any day over Indian made.

Basically Enfields are for style only, Mercunte would have trouble riding anything like a cruiser they are heavy as shit and turn like shit, next step up is a sport bike even the upright sporties are like rooting a ball.

If you're having a panic attack during your riding test, you shouldn't be on the road, you'll be a hazard to everyone around you and don't have the nerve to be exposed to everything.

I'll stop sperging about bikes now but TLDR the bike she picked is light, easy to ride but the style is for a hipster and it's an indian made piece of shit.
