You mean the small ones that go along with the Daniel figure we got with I think it was Slag and the transforming figure? There were two GI Joe like figures being made years ago that were canceled.
I think they were actually closer to older MASK figure size.

There's good ones, but Japan got a lot of them as exclusives. The JP releases infamously weirdly cheaped out on paint deco and relegated it to these chrome backed stickers that easily peeled off. It's a kind of inverse of beast wars where it started good and then descended into shit, with an odd bit where the cycle repeated during the beast hunters finale. None of the beast hunter designs showed up in the show, infamously.
But with beast hunters it was really bad because when it got bad they were just lazily upscaling legends class (called cyberverse at the time) figures. Some legends versions had cooler designs but when blown up it kind of uh...

Look, just compare both Beast hunter voyager primes to see what I'm saying,

During the time they were locking almost every Gi joe release behind some convention or subscription service shop exclusive they actually made a few Transformers Gi joes, can't remember if they made a spike or not but I know they made some of the same transformers episode the cobra commander figure I sent earlier was referencing.

Though the MASK scale mention reminded me of the later human alliance stuff. Unless there's pics I'm gonna just assume it's like the cancelled MP jetfire from years back that was mentioned but never seen.

God, that would be awesome. I've always liked cute-to-cool robots, and Thomas could work out great as one. For better and for worse, Mattel has steadfastly refused to cater to older Thomas fans, and now a certain purple dinosaur is going to come out of extinction and replace Thomas. Barneyfags ruin everything.

The figure is also conveniently scaled to gi joe figures given it's a drone. They actually made a 3 pack with two recolored as BATs and a figure of Cobra commander in his "old snake" alias he used in his transformers g1 cameo.

I REALLY wish this wasn't a con/sub service exclusive even now 9 years later. Never not gonna stop being kinda pissed about having to just sit and watch people squaton them for 100-200 dollars forever. The BAT version of soundwave should have been a standard release, it'd have sold like crazy. No clue what the fuck hasbro's been smoking the last decade with all this expensive/limited exclusivity shit for stuff people would actually buy a ton of the things. it's LITERALLY an army builder made for use in both transformers and gi joe.

Have you see the bootleg/3rd party version of that figure? It's pretty high quality:



Serpent Bell by APC. Its costs a 'lil over 40 bucks. I have APC Soundwave, its decent quality. Its scale is slightly larger than the regular first run Prime Soundwave, but its larger size is arguably more show-correct. Like, on a shelf next to other TFP figures it looks right.

Did you watch the show? There was literally an episode of TFP with a plot focused entirely on Agent Fowler getting interrogated by a furious Air Force (?) General. The General was so fed up with the incompetent Autobots routinely putting American lives (& infrastructure) at risk, he plans to seek approval to get all Cybertronians within United States territories "dealt with". Even more damning - the Autobots weren't filling out & submitting their required paperwork. Who knows how many unnecessary investigations (which presumably, wasted loads of taxpayer dollars) 'cause the Air Force (stupidly) relied on the Autobots to inform them about Starscream/Dreadwing/random Decepticon flying mooks activities.

The last sentence is an obviously written in jest; however canonically in one episode they get chewed out by Air Force SOC for not filling out paperwork/keeping the military in the dark about Dreadwing's activities.

The season 1 figures I own are all high quality. Their transformations are a bit awkward/difficult to maneuver (perhaps why the line is so divisive), but they aren't falling apart, have loose joints, or turning yellow in their box (which has happened to waaay to many of my recent Hasbro figures).

Honestly, as dumb as late IDW got, I found it cool that they cannonized Hearts of Steel. Meaning that some rando got reprogrammed to be Optimus and without the matrix he beat the fuck out of Cthulhu.

Haven't seen it, but it's cool that exists. I wish it was around the size of the OG though because the entire reason that exclusive existed was because the scaling lined up to 1:18 scale stuff. Might look into getting one of those third party ones though if they're still 40. Not gonna be able to army build em though.

EDIT: Oh hey apperently they did a non-deluxe scale version of the pre-beast wars X/rampage design that was a prime megatron retool. Really cool but the head's really different and more stylized for prime than the original figure's head was.

Also wait you already have straxus? damn. That's one of the only other figures I pre-ordered (aside from tidal wave which ended poorly and left a bad taste in my mouth so I still haven't ordered him despite wanting the figure) . Well that, and the chrome helmet cobra commander. On my end it still says both are coming out in october and I can't log in because of the layout change BS fucking me over and apperently requiring me to make a NEW ACCOUNT or some shit to view my OLD ORDERS. Can't be assed for that shit right now and apparently they're going to ship and charge like normal despite the fuckery with the site according to people that got other figures shipped after the shitty layout change did a similar thing.

It's actually kind of insane how most of the figures that I have gotten the last few years are just retools/variants of Siege megatron and Kingdom galvatron.
