Instead of wasting money on this shit they could've remastered Bloodborne and bring it to PC too.

Elden Ring's DLC made a lot of people reinstall and make some check out the other Souls games. There was also that Kai Cenat faggot who live streamed Bloodborne and he brought a lot of attention to the game.

Sony could've slapped a $60 price tag and they would've made as much as money as they poured into Shitcord with less effort.

Why wasn't the cell shaded? I mean the characters would still be ugly as fuck but at the pseudo realistic artstyle only makes it look much worse.
One of the few points I can give to Life Estranged and Dustborn are the art direction(s). Max, Chloe, and Alex’s games all have rather painterly styles that make up a bit for the stiff facial animation (and other obvious corner-cutting methods). The environments in particular are very nice for their time. Dustborn wears its comic book influence on its sleeve, so if you look past the bad animation (and designs like Sai’s), you can see what it’s trying to do; the saturated palette and retro-futuristic aesthetic make it striking at times.

Concord has this sort-of-DOTA-or-League-of-Leggens-but-not-really problem. The uncertainty of what materials to use, whether the cartoony ideas should be done realistically or not, even the nonsensical color choices make everything fight against each other. Concord, in a way, is like Battleborn, except the latter knows it wants to be cartoony. The former on the other hand has no clue what it wants to be.

The current Sony CEO has already said in interviews that he doesn't understand why people play old games. He thinks they are ugly and lame.

I really have to wonder why this game after 8 years of development ever came out and yet a bunch of other shit got canceled. Why wasn't this shit canceled and why did Sony allow their developers to spend to much time on this? Say what you will about Activision-Blizzard and the Cod franchise, but they know when to crack the whip. Sledgehammer games only had months to make Vanguard and MWIII but they came out and were more or less finished projects (for live service games). Sony apparently recognized a long time ago going all in on cinematic slop was a bad idea, but like Microsoft, Sony wasn't willing to crack the whip and push games out in a reasonable amount of time. This is worse than Anthem which took EA 5 years to release.

The question shouldn't be "why wasn't this shit canceled?", but rather "why did Sony buy this studio in the first place?" You gotta remember that this game was at least six years into development when Sony bought Firewalk out. I'll take an uneducated guess and propose that because the C-suites in the AAA landscape are so incestuous it might as well be Pakistan, there was some kind of behind the scenes agreement where it was known for years that Sony would buy them out if they managed to produce something, and dare I suggest that might have been the plan from the studio's inception. Sony owns Bungie and some of the founders and many of the employees are ex-Bungie. Of course, Sony only acquired Bungie a couple of years ago but there's still the connection.

Whose fault is that? Their job is making games. People don't like their game; they didn't do a good job. That's how the world (should) work. Since they want to preach about people losing their jobs, why not ask them how they feel about the current state of inflation?

If this isn't the most unoriginal, generic, boring, lazy game that I've ever seen, then it's such a close second that it's literally butt-fucking the first place game. The devs claim to have been in production for EIGHT YEARS on this game! Eight fucking years, and this is the best they were able to come up with? Ripping off Overwatch, Destiny, Guardians of the Galaxy, stuffing it full of identity politics bullshit, and then lazily slapping a coat of drab paint on it? Eight years to create a game where everything from the premise, to the characters, to the level design are nothing but unoriginal derivatives of other more popular games or movies. I really hope the gaming industry starts to learn their lesson after failures like this, Dustborn, and Suicide Squad and start to make good games again, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

The game isn't completely dead, the reddit mods of their sub are hard at work locking any posts and deleting any comments complaining about the queue times

One theory is that something happened to the Bloodborne source code, so porting it out of the PS4 is proving very difficult, if not impossible.

Sony probably knows it's a moneymaker, but the code might have been damaged, or worse, lost.

Alternate take: Sony hates the PC market because they refuse to buy the latest PlayStation.

Yes, that's an autistic, dumb, and short-sighted take, but considering we're talking about the Japanese its quite fitting.

Just remember, we got Raiden in MGS2 because Konami was disappointed in MGS1's poor metrics in Japan and focus testing discovering Solid Snake being too manly as the cause, never mind that it sold like hotcakes in the USA.

>Be a multi-billion dollar company
>Tease game where characters bitch and moan about capitalism

Wouldn't it be funny if someone got inspired an pulled off a major high-stake heist of Sony HQ?
These games are what you call "safe anti-capitalism".

You don't ever actually get to take down a megacorp or kill bankers and shit which is actually based. I can't think of any woke games where you actually kill capitalists or fight the problem where it would actually hurt them.

You quite literally just have characters who'll say a single quip or line about a very "safe" topic of capitalism like muh student loans or muh food delivery prices but nothing that actually matters. Usually it's not even that it's just straight up IdPol.

If only we got a Cyberpunk game where you avenge every single American GI who died in the Pacific and Pearl Harbor go Total Jap Corpo Death and strangle every single Arasaka employee with their own guts because they're filthy slants- I MEAN, they're rich fags who popularized their smelly sushi to everyone.

I’d say Crab Souls but you don’t actually kill the capitalists. Other characters or even giant debris kill them for you. Though to be fair they talk about things like extortion, taxes and hazardous working conditions alongside pollution.
