Now that I think about it this is very true. Most of the games either set up a bad guy like "handsome jack" or a "mister house" type figure and the idea is that once you get rid of them then all the bankers and mega corps fall in line and you have the land of milk and honey. These games are what you call "safe anti-capitalism".
You don't ever actually get to take down a megacorp or kill bankers and shit which is actually based. I can't think of any woke games where you actually kill capitalists or fight the problem where it would actually hurt them.
You quite literally just have characters who'll say a single quip or line about a very "safe" topic of capitalism like muh student loans or muh food delivery prices but nothing that actually matters. Usually it's not even that it's just straight up IdPol.
If only we got a Cyberpunk game where youavenge every single American GI who died in the Pacific and Pearl Harborgo TotalJapCorpo Death and strangle every single Arasaka employee with their own guts because they're filthy slants- I MEAN, they're rich fags who popularized their smelly sushi to everyone.
In other games you're fighting against "the mindset" like in Life Is Strange 3 where you're up against the Drumpf supporter which beats up kids because they're not American.
But you never have "The Banker" As the villain. The only exception to this that I can think of is "the witcher 1" where one dwarf was funding an insurection in the kingdom, and you can choose to help him or have him arrested.
I wonder if they will remove this quest line in the remake.
