Synth is certainly not the best reviewer in the world and he has basic bitch console fag taste in games. People watch him because he is living a fantasy, the fantasy of telling vidya journos and millennial cunts to eat it. Which is why he is going to transition into lazy live streams. These video essay guys get drawn into doing them because it's like free money "Well I have to play the game to review it/cap footage anyway" and then they realize that there is more money/traction in the streams than the videos (YT doesn't throttle supers). The vast majority of Synths audience gets their fix from the live stream just the same, all he has to do is play the latest slop (the numbers even surprised him during the play through of Hen Solo).
The problem with live streaming is that it is harder than it looks, especially as time wears on and people get tired of you. Reaction content will put you knee-deep in drama (not always bad but exhausting), oversharing will lead to you embarrassing yourself (and someone here archiving it) and going on the same old rants over and over while grinding some dumb DBZ game will see you burning out your welcome.
Even when streaming works out for the creator, it's still not the same. Just look at E;R, one of the greatest shit take essayists ever, the Steven Universe video almost killed me it was so funny... and if you watch his streams it's just sassy black AI reading 4 chan shit post super-berries for 6 hours straight while he nervously laughs. I guess he is doing okay and I wish Synth the best too but consider putting out something produced now and again you faggots. It just sucks we loose everyone to live streaming. Essay/documentary content seems to be a stepping stone for everyone but fucking EWU, even Knudson is just doing some gay furry cringe now instead of documentaries after being broken by Eve Online or w/e.
