Concord - robots with pronouns

It's one thing to be complacent and supportive of this ESG crap. I would question your taste, and think you should be sent to a camp in Minecraft, but at least it's honest. However, it's a whole different thing to say that it doesn't exist, or act like it's not even there.

It's just dishonest, especially when every critic has to know by now that "wokeness" is such a huge factor in the buying decision for a lot of potential customers now, whether they like it or not, so either pretending it's not there, or dismissing it completely is in itself how propaganda works. lol

The thing is that leftists, like jews & muslims, are inherently dishonest about their intentions and overall moral character. They think it's 100% okay to lie and deceive people because all that matters is the advancement of their cause.

I know RedLetterMedia and Mystery Science Episode 3000 exist, but that's like 10 people max. Most people I know don't enjoy media ironically. I tried myself and it's easier and more fun to just not watch bad media.
There are exceptions but the problem is that bad media requires company. One of the best movie experiences I had was watching the Incredible Melting Man with 2 friends. And any sufficiently buggy game can get shiggles out of me with company.
A sufficiently stupid game with multiplayer that is cheap, like about a 1-5 dollars a copy can be fun.

This is the only design that I truly can't get over.

Outside of being fat, outside of not being fuckable, why does it look like he's wearing random thrifted garbage?
If you squint, it looks like the weaboo Ugly Bastard meme.

Is it part of his backstory? That he grabbed whatever was laying around in his great-aunt's garage and went out to save the galaxy or whatever? It looks so intentionally amateur that I can't believe it wasn't a design choice to make him "endearingly frumpy" rather than "badass."

Someone tried to fix this design, and gave up LOL.

I wonder if any of these woke "retro game community" people are going to try and buy up the physical Concord copies, thinking "IT'S GOING TO BE THE NEXT STADIUM EVENTS!"

Update: And I just got my answer. Check this out.

A lot of those "bids" are likely bots. Ebay auctions were ruined many years ago. It's a shame because it was a great website in the early days.

Bingo.

Overall it just looks like a clone of Payday, which was on Xbox Games Pass. They are trying to build up their subscription slop trough. The masked guys at the end and their whole aesthetic coupled with the title make me think there is some sort of 'Squid Games' inspiration here. A shadowy org putting them up to these heists or w/e.

It will definitely flop but I don't know if they will pull it because it's probably hosted P2P and not costing them big money to keep running.
It legitimately looks like Hyenas. Hope it flops just as badly.

Every single character in this game would've been improved if they put a helmet and mask (or paper bag) on them. The characters just goes far beyond ugly design, they're just bad. You can still have appealing characters that aren't "conventionally attractive," or even have them be ugly and gross looking (e.g. The Duke from RE8 ). These designs are just purely devoid of personality and nobody liked them and I'm curious on how this is even possible, because people will latch on to any character even if they're the most generic military man dude in existence.

didn't even know this game existed until it came out and everyone I've talked to says the same thing, is there any explanation to the lack of advertising? Because I think it's insane that a game with this type of budget didn't have a crazy ad/media campaign before it launched
I'm pretty disconnected from most advertising thanks to ad block and not watching TV but I think this got a similar level of advertising to most other games. Sponsored twitch streams and trailers on social media but the game was so obviously dogshit I don't think it got any positive organic spread from anyone that wasn't a paid shill.

With the diversity stuff- what market research did they do, exactly? Did they survey a bunch of black women as an untapped market and found that they really really wanted to play shooters but didn’t because a lack of representation? I doubt it.
Half of these hideous characters were probably their diversity hires' OCs and/or self-inserts.

I think one of the more hilarious and telling aspects of this all is that with how bad it did in sales and player count, if even a fraction of the people screaming the hardest to defend it online or "modern audiences" these companies spend so much time insisting they must cater to, actually bought and played the game.. It would have mattered and been noticeable. This puts yet another nail in the coffin of said arguments, excuses and narratives. No, this isn't about chasing some phantom demographic, player sensibility or market imperative. But is in fact all about the zealous ideologies and egos of a few out of touch modern developers and media personalities, and their ability to force their way on others and crybully. This shit is all virtue signaling at very best, propaganda pushing in most other cases.

These people don't play games, they aren't interested in the medium or any other for reasons outside of ideological agenda pushing, they are a loud but tiny group of screechers.. This once again proves it.. If they did play games then their numbers have to be near nonexistent, if they are larger in number, then why the fuck aren't they buying/playing these games!? They make no sense as even an afterthought to the industry of any media.

The market, focus group and business side of this mess and their "logic" (fad chasing, lowest common, NEXT BIG THING ONLY etc etc) is probably beyond help/fixing under the current ruinous corporate, business and market ideology our society continues to tolerate though.. sadly.

The ET comparisons are interesting because they’re nearly opposites.

ET was made by a single competent dev (the same guy who made Yar’s Revenge) under an extreme time crunch of less than six weeks, and its infamy is less because of the game itself - the 2600 had a lot of crap, after all - and more because Atari marketed and produced it to such a ridiculous degree that even its respectable 2 million-ish units sold wasn’t nearly enough for their massive gamble. With a mere month of additional dev time and maybe one or two other people working on it, Atari could have toned down the marketing, produced a reasonable number of units, and had a modest success on their hands.

Concord was made by well over a hundred people over the course of eight years and was so laughably hated by everyone that even making it F2P isn’t worth the cost of keeping the servers running two weeks after launch, and it had fewer concurrent players than Sex with Hitler. No amount of additional time, money, or developers could ever have hoped to save it.

But right wing activists on the internet keep telling us that FInk and all the other NWO CEOs never make mistakes. That they are constantly string pulling on the ball politically savvy evil geniuses. I am still waiting for Fink to do his supposed one phone call money printer turn a chud victory in to a uberloss routine, that they have hyped him up as doing. Many people on this very site have said that, look at the Dillan Mulvaney thread. "Fink will bail them out, they have lost nothing, we have already lost" This very thread also.
Turns out Bud light is still fucking DEAD. Over a year later.
If what you are saying is true, Then instead of that. He and the rest of the dumb shit billionaires are captured in a san fran bubble echo chamber and keep making dumb decisions that are easy outplayed by just not typing in your card details. A focus group stuffed by san fran libshits is not a benchmark of the world.

There is a way to put 'ugly' characters in a game without people complaining about them. Just include them in the cast and don't put them in the forefront.

Back in the Quake III days, it was easy to tell which female characters were popular by the amount of custom skins being made for them. Lucy barely got any

Someone tried to fix this design, and gave up LOL.

That’s the thing with creativity. Having free reign to do whatever you want can be a detriment to you. If you have at least some constrictions or some rules attached to creating characters or universes, that’s when you can really get your creativity going. Concord just looked like it didn’t give a shit.
