He could have been at any time before the shooting. Take him from his parents, give him to an aunt or families looking to adopt, put him through therapy(as much as I hate therapy), whatever.
Not even the school which knew he had made threats bothered to do anything-no teacher, or member of the administrative staff said anything, though they had to know mommy was a fentanyl addict and there had been domestic abuse apparently(with the mother apparently being in the wrong-given the aunt wasn't siding with her sister).
They just ignored him and apparently hoped nothing would come of it-apparently he skipped school regularly. Usually schools are supposed to investigate instances of regular truancy.
I'm not arguing he should be let loose or given a statue, I am arguing that this boy was failed by society and his actions were apparently the only way he could get anyone to care.
I am speaking from compassion, kindness, and love for the downtrodden.
