Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Twitter informs me that the Putins you see when he goes abroad are all stand-ins, though, and that Putin lives in an isolated glass cage under the Kremlin or in Kamchatka or for all I know in an underground lair on a volcanic island in the South Pacific to help fulfill his role as the ultimate Bond villain.

Meaning they won't bother arresting him, since what's the point?
I actually made a silly mistake and when I saw a poster talking about extraditing Volodymyr Z. thought they meant Z-Man. But of course it's the actual saboteur who has the same first name and initial. Most of the rest of what I said still stands despite egg on my face.

You're wrong about Putin, though. I have it on good authority he is actually the immortal and vampiric Countess Bathory in a cunning animatronic suit.

"German investigators believe they may have the answer. The main suspect is a Ukrainian diving instructor named Volodymyr Z., who last lived near Warsaw. Investigators suspect him of carrying out the attack together with five other Ukrainians. But before he could be arrested, the suspect fled to his home country.
"Volodymyr Z" ... really!
The glowies were probably laughing hard when they came up with that.

"Yes is me, "Volodymyr Z", tell me where we usually keep the Western military aid."

Back to back updates from Patrick Lancaster (status; not dead).
They find an find an alleged pollock merc (status: dead).

He is running around with Akhmat SF group in Kursk checking out busted ukrainian positions.
They eat their cookies and take their ammo. The positions all look like hobo camps with food and ammo that looks like it came from walmart rather then proper military issued stuff.
And he gets an interview with a Major General who says the 2-3 months timeline.

The fact they're using civilian-grade .223 Remington that I could buy myself, right now, instead of NATO (surplus?) M193 5.56x45mm is very telling. These "mercs" are badly equipped if this is what they're using...

Wut? Elucidate plz.
Clanners would fight for honor more than strategic purposes. It was more "honorable" to take a planet with fewer mechs than what people thought necessary so you could show how good you and your warriors were. This came back to bite them in the ass when Comstar decided to take the field and charge straight into the teeth of the clan war machine, using their bodies to break the clans.

Drag-on Knight is correct that the US security state seems to have different priorities than winning the war. (Someone else has pointed this out.) The issue is that Russia is not playing by the same rules and hence why the US is losing.

I can imagine the scene in Langley:

It's late Friday on Labor Day weekend and the glownigger domestic/allied domestic (DADOM) propaganda division is counting the seconds on their smartphones until their shift is over and they get to enjoy the 3 day weekend; an extra day for worshipping Moloch is always welcome! Just before quitting time, the DADOM office in Germany drops a line and says they need another story about Nord Stream being done by a non-NATO member pronto (God forbid the Army/Navy divers who actually did it get any recognition for their hard work). HQ always has to offer input and sign off on this stuff before the media division(s) can run it.

The other glowniggers would like to just stop talking about it and move on like it never happened since that usually works considering attention spans of the general public these days. Plus they've got a big couple of months ahead of them, in particular the month of November; someone even took a Sharpie and wrote the word "Fortification" over that page of the calendar, but orders are orders and the pipeline needs a new bomber. "Fuck's sake," exclaims one particularly radiant melanated agent "just say Zelensky did it, those retards [the public] aren't going to fucking doubt it anyway." The other glowies, desperate to grab a little holiday "bonus" from the South American Import/Export Division, all agree and tell Germany to just say some guy called "Vlad Z" did it. They then do the old Office Space maneuver and turn off their phones (including the secret back door programs installed on those phones), and call it a day.

PMC Bronze is probably the cheapest ammo available to them. The next step down would be steel cased Wolf, but it wouldn't be a good look for Ukraine to be sourcing their ammo from Russian factories.

Everytime I see a new article about the Ukies inventing new ways to break international law, all I can ever think about is that one day this'll probably be used on Americans. But it's fine for now, because it's just "orcs"
Very soon, if the current political climate is anything to go by...

Using thermite is still retarded. There's a reason this was never the go-to strategy. If you want to burn shit down, napalm is far more effective. If you want to defoliate an area, that's why we invented agent orange. Chase soldiers out of a trench? Well, that's why the good lord gave us lung irritants. In what world is dropping thermite the most effective solution on the battlefield?

I will admit it makes for a pretty twitter post. Straight from the producers of the Kursk and Zaporizhia offenses.

Have the Germans forgotten already how the CIA were bugging Angela Merkel's phone?
Not only Angela's, according to this article:

Thats what being conquered means. "No comment available." I dont remember even any mentions in the parliament. It also means that other nations will decide about what you are allowed to investigate and if its necessary at all. Even if its your own property.

Isn't the media calling them "Dragon Drones" or something? Yet if it wasn't Ukraine doing it, they'd call it an atrocity.

Thermite's meant to burn through metal at short distances, this looks impressive, but you'd think something like a Molotov would be more useful. If they wanted to brick some Russian's car or burn through a door lock, that's what thermite's for. But it makes for nice videos for redditors to circle jerk to, so there's that.

As @Romeo posted yesterday the AFU Donetsk front is continuing to crumble.

The Ukraine is retreating from Pokrovsk; they are flooding the mines "so that the enemy will not take possession of our natural resources." Very reminiscent of the retreat of the Reich's Army Group South in the summer of 1943. Link

Nevelskoe; the enemy continues to retreat; nearly 10 km liberated. Link

Information was received about the encirclement of the the AFU in the triangle of Lesovka, Dolinovka and Zhelanny Pervoy. Link

In Nikolaevka the Zarya Hotel, which was the temporary accommodation point for Ukrainian military and Western mercenaries, was destroyed. Link

Destroyed Marder BMP-nothing any of the regulars here haven't seen before but the soldier describing it is hilarious:

"RAIN-METAAAAL-YE " 😆 Link

I don't know why someone wouldn't just want to use napalm. To destroy a treeline you want something that adheres and burns for a period of time., not some intense but brief flash half of which will take place in the air. I am admittedly thinking of this in terms of its actual stated purpose of removing foliage and vegetation rather than any unstated goal of clearing out people - for which napalm would play very poorly in the USA. So perhaps that is a reason for Thermite - it's still horrible if you were caught in it but the name is different and that's what matters in the media.

That said, a drone moving slow enough to be a crop duster is a drone moving slow enough to be spotted and shot down.

I'm surprised they're not salting the Earth by this point and to Hell with the farmers and people who live there. They'd rather the land be poisoned than let someone else have it. Even the people born and raised there. At least flooding the mine should (I hope) be reversible? I'm not a miner.

I think so, the Wehrmacht and SS had orders to carry out scorched earth as they retreated to the Dniper Ost Wall. The thing is Germans were clearly foreign invaders, the Ukraine would be literally destroying itself to spite Russia, to whom they are clearly related to (at the very least, they really are the same people). They're Nazis larpers so they are repeating everything their heroes did.

But I think the state of the AFU is far worse than anyone is admitting to: in the first four months of 2024 alone, Ukrainian prosecutors opened criminal cases against nearly 19,000 soldiers who either abandoned their posts or deserted. Hopefully they are too degraded to do lasting damage to the land or its people.
