No bullshit, some of the best books in the world come from people like Roland. I've ranted about this before in the thread, but the thing that really made a lot of old-school authors good at their craft was that they went out and did all kinds of interesting things first, then started writing later, like Joseph Conrad and Ernest Hemingway. Living and working in Vegas would give you so much fodder for, say, a casino heist thriller or a crime novel set in the shitty parts of town that the punters and tourists don't visit. Something like Carl Hiaasen's Florida novels.

And just like Leslie, this is a guy who didn't seek out Pat. He tried to give Pat very good, actionable advice as a lawyer, and Pat's response was to lash out at him like an unhinged idiot and harass him for weeks. Mike is a big NBA fan and he would end up having to respond to people asking why Mike was going to prison because Pat was spamming threats from behind a block.

The organic Pat posters are the best Pat posters.

I saw a few comments from people that were questioning how sojourner could be competent for the actual women and children they’re meant to provide for if their pat doc was so fucked. It’s worth mentioning that the volunteers for that service regularly see some really horrible shit from the worst of humanity, imagine your last RO application was drafted for a woman covered in bruises with children who’d had their innocence ripped away from them, and then this fat idiot comes in because people on Twitter called him fat. lol imagine pat yammering to the volunteer about six years of lore about “the cult” and “they” and “we” and “my wife and I” and “members of a cabal of domestic terrorist white supremacist transphobic homophobic misogynistic nazis” I doubt they took Pat seriously or gave the application their best efforts.
