I think a big factor in Maddox's loss of relevance is the fact that when he was at his prime of popularity, around 2004 to 2006, he more or less disappeared and stopped updating. Apparently it was because he had a whole host of projects that never went to fruition, but when he finally came back to regular updates, he stopped publishing his off the cuff rants and began publishing serious business boring shit that he has continued to this day. That and he began focusing on YouTube, and to be frank he just sucks at making videos, which his articles nowadays simply serve to compliment. Even TheAmazingAtheist has more relevancy and makes more money online than he does, and that's saying something. And he kinda reminds me of AIU on YouTube, who didn't realize his fanbase was a bunch of Trump supporters and went ape shit. Maddox seems to have attracted a more right-wing base, and is dismayed that they don't like his rants against right wing sacred cows and political figures (though this also shows the stupidity of his fanbase. Why did they think the child of Syrian immigrants would be happy and supportive of people demonizing Syrian refugees?) I find all of this amusing.
I'm surprised that podcast was a golden goose for him (judging from what everyone here has said, I imagine his last one) because it was really boring like the rest of his stuff nowadays. Even more surprised Dick Masterson was the stronger part of the duo. It's pretty amusing how it blew up in his face, and the discrepancy between the money Dick Masterson makes and Maddox makes is just embarrassingly funny. How the mighty have fallen. I respected his desire to never have ads on his website, but now that he apparently floods all the rest of his shit with ads and sponsers, I don't see the point. Having no ads served him well when he had a good paying IT job, but now that he barely makes even online, maybe he should just sell out totally. Or get another job.
And his two books AFAIK were pretty successful, I wonder why he doesn't focus on that? Then again, he does denounce his first book, which just makes this all the more retarded and funny. How much does his website cost? I wonder if he'll even be able to afford it for much longer.
